What makes moving in Bani Amr different?
It is a mountain move: climbing roads and bends, stone houses and villages on slopes, fog and rain on many days, all calling for the right vehicle, balanced loading and careful timing.
Bani Amr is a centre of Al-Namas governorate in the Sarawat highlands of Asir, with villages spread among terraced fields and valleys. Many access roads are narrow, winding and steep, unsuitable for a long truck, so we mostly use a lined medium closed dyna driven by someone used to mountain roads, with heavy items low and central to keep it stable in bends. We check the weather before the day, prefer loading in clear hours and agree a new date with you if driving conditions are poor.
How much does moving in Bani Amr cost?
From SAR 275 for one or two rooms, SAR 460 for a three- or four-room house, SAR 740 for a villa or farmhouse and SAR 140 for a small dyna trip. Village houses may need two dyna trips instead of one truck run, and carrying over stone steps takes time, so we ask for photos of the rooms and the access road.

Moving stone houses and mountain villages
We plan from the door: measuring doors and passages, dismantling large pieces inside the rooms, and shuttling to the vehicle if it cannot stop at the door. Hand trolleys work on level paths and items are carried by hand on stone steps with corners and walls covered. Where terraces press against houses and tracks are narrow, a small or medium dyna makes short runs to where the larger vehicle waits.
Packing against rain, fog and cold
Fabric then plastic sealed on all sides, since rain and fog wet pieces between door and vehicle. Boxes are taped top and bottom and raised on boards, and wood is unwrapped the same day at the new home so no moisture stays trapped. Bulky winter blankets are packed in large clean sealed bags, heaters travel empty and clean, and gas cylinders are disconnected before the crew arrives.

Dismantling and assembly
A carpenter dismantles and refits bedrooms, wardrobes, bookcases and dining tables, included in home and apartment prices. With narrow doors dismantling is a necessity: parts are numbered, screws bagged, sofa legs and backs removed where possible, and wardrobes levelled on the uneven floors of some older houses.

Vehicles for mountain roads
| Situation | Vehicle | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One or two items | Dabab | Climbs narrow roads easily |
| Sealed boxes and items | Covered wanet | Light, for short trips |
| House or apartment in a mountain village | Medium closed dyna | Stable in bends, fits narrow roads |
| Villa on a main road or long move | Box truck | Whole house in one trip |
Between villages, Al-Namas or Tanomah the dyna usually suffices; for Abha, Khamis Mushait or distant cities the load is transferred to a box truck on the main road if needed.
Furniture lift
A lift needs firm level ground and road access, so we ask for a photo of the building and its frontage first. Often the simpler answer in the mountains is to dismantle the large piece inside and move it in parts; we suggest the most suitable option after inspection.

Areas we serve around Bani Amr
- Bani Amr and its highland and valley villages.
- Al-Namas city and its centres: Al-Sarh, Wadi Zaid.
- Tanomah, Ballasmar and Ballahmar in the Sarawat.
- Moves to Abha, Khamis Mushait, Al-Baha, Bisha and beyond.
Village names can be similar, so we always ask for the map pin.
Summer homes and furnished apartments
Some families keep a home in the Sarawat for the summer, which means seasonal moves: furnishing before the holiday, packing and storing after it, or moving fully when a family settles. Owners of furnished apartments refresh or relocate furniture too. We pack for long storage under fabric covers with a written box list for easy setup next season, and recommend booking at least a week ahead, more before holidays.
Moving to Abha, Khamis Mushait and other cities
Roads down from the highlands include descents and steep sections, so loads are strapped row by row with dividers and driven gently downhill. See Moving Company in Abha, Moving Company in Khamis Mushait, Moving Company in Al-Baha and Moving Company in Bisha.
Storage between seasons
Closed-warehouse storage from SAR 185, ideal for summer-home furniture between seasons, with breathable covers, mattresses stored upright and a written inventory. See furniture storage.
What raises or lowers the cost of a mountain move?
In flat cities volume is nearly everything; in mountain villages the road competes with it. A small house on a hilltop with a narrow road can take longer than a larger one on the main road, which is why the road photo matters. You can lower the cost by carrying light items such as clothes and kitchenware in your own car and leaving large pieces and appliances to the crew.
Heaters, ACs and appliances
Sarawat homes have more heaters than ACs. Gas heaters travel disconnected and empty, wood stoves are cleared of ash before wrapping, fridges stand for some hours after a long downhill drive before being switched on, and split ACs have their gas pumped back before disconnection.
Shops and offices in Bani Amr and Al-Namas
Small shops and offices move after closing or on a day off and are priced on inspection: shelving bundled with its bolts, display fridges emptied hours ahead, glass in bubble wrap and board, office files in numbered boxes, and shelving refitted at the new site.
Steps of your move
- Send the map pin, room and road photos and your destination.
- We pick the vehicle for the road and send the price.
- We check the weather and confirm the loading time.
- The crew dismantles, packs, loads in balance and straps.
- We unload by room, assemble and remove the wrapping.
- You check everything before the crew leaves.
