How much does furniture moving from Riyadh to Jeddah cost?
Moving furniture from Riyadh to Jeddah starts from SAR 650, and the final price depends on the number of rooms, the large pieces, the floor level and whether both buildings have a lift. Fuel for roughly a thousand kilometres, a full day of driving and crews in both cities are almost fixed costs; what really changes the price is the volume of the load and the hours of dismantling and assembly.
The table below shows the starting point for each home size. These are starting prices; the final figure is given after a free survey at home or from photos and a short video sent on WhatsApp.
| Service | Details | Starts from (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| One room or a small load | Packing, transport and unloading in Jeddah | 650 |
| Specific items only | A fridge, washer, sofa set or single bedroom, by size and weight | 370 |
| Three-bedroom flat | Dismantling, packing, transport and full reassembly | 1,100 |
| Villa or large flat | Large truck and a bigger crew in both cities | 1,850 |
| Furniture lift for upper floors | When the stairs are narrow or the lift is small | Ask for the price by phone or WhatsApp |
| Temporary storage in Jeddah | Closed warehouse until you receive your home | Ask for the price by phone or WhatsApp |
Many families ask why the price is not set per kilometre or per cubic metre. Two flats with the same number of rooms can be very different: one has light floor seating, the other heavy wooden bedrooms and ceiling-high wardrobes. So we prefer to see the furniture first and then give you one figure covering everything agreed, with nothing added on loading day.
How far is Jeddah from Riyadh and how long does the trip take?
Riyadh and Jeddah are about 950 km apart, and a loaded moving truck covers the distance in 9 to 11 hours including rest and fuel stops. A loaded truck does not travel at car speed, and the driver must take breaks on a road this long, so we plan the timing so that your furniture does not reach Jeddah in the middle of the night.
The whole job, from the first piece dismantled in Riyadh to the last piece assembled in Jeddah, usually takes a day and a half for a medium flat and two days for villas and large homes. This is how we split it in most bookings.
| Stage | Where | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Dismantling, packing and loading | Your home in Riyadh | From midday to late afternoon or sunset |
| The road | Highway between the two cities | 9 to 11 hours including breaks |
| Unloading and carrying in | Your home in Jeddah | The following morning |
| Assembly and setting up | Your home in Jeddah | 2 to 5 hours depending on size |
Why load in the afternoon and deliver in the morning?
The schedule that fits this route most is loading in Riyadh after midday, driving through the cooler evening and night hours, and arriving in Jeddah in the morning. The Jeddah crew then starts its day while you are there to receive the home, and unloading and assembly happen in daylight with the building guard present and the lift available to book.
Morning loading in Riyadh is possible too, but it usually means the truck reaches Jeddah at night, and many Jeddah buildings do not allow late unloading, so the truck waits loaded until morning. We agree the timing that suits both homes and tell you the expected arrival hour before the truck leaves.
💡 Sort out the Jeddah keys before moving day
Make sure the key to the new home is with you or someone in Jeddah before the truck arrives, and that electricity and water are ready for assembly. Waiting an hour or two for a key means an idle crew and a truck parked outside the building.

How do we pack furniture for Jeddah humidity?
Packing for this route differs from packing for a move inside Riyadh: the furniture leaves dry air and arrives in a coastal city with high humidity most of the year. Particleboard in wardrobes and bedrooms suffers when left exposed, and electronics do not like the sudden change between road heat and coastal moisture.
- Wood is wrapped in tight stretch film, then a blanket or corrugated cardboard over it, so moisture does not settle directly on the surface.
- Electronics go into padded boxes, sealed well, with screens kept apart from the rest of the load.
- Mirrors and glass are sandwiched between double cardboard sheets and secured standing, never lying flat.
- Every box is numbered and labelled with its room so it goes straight to its place in Jeddah.
- Screws and small fittings for each piece go into a separate bag taped to that piece.

Our advice after arrival: open the boxes within the first two days and do not leave them sealed for weeks in a room without air conditioning, especially boxes of clothes and books. Packing protects your things on the road, but it is not long-term storage in Jeddah’s climate.
Which truck suits a Riyadh to Jeddah move?
We use closed trucks only on this route because the road is long, dusty and sunny, and an open truck cannot protect furniture for a thousand kilometres. The truck size is chosen after the survey, and the rule is never to overload a small truck to save a little money and then have pieces damaged by pressure.
🚚 Small closed truck
For one or two rooms, or the belongings of a student or single employee moving to Jeddah.
🚛 Medium truck
For a three-bedroom family flat with living room, kitchen and full appliances.
🏗️ Large truck or two
For villas, full floors and homes with large majlis sets and many rooms.
🧰 Equipment on board
Trolleys, tie-down straps and protective blankets on every trip.
Which Riyadh districts do we collect from?
We collect from every Riyadh district, and we like to know the district early because loading times differ between the north and the centre. Northern districts such as Al Malqa, Al Narjis, Al Yasmin, Hittin and Al Sahafa mostly have villas and wide streets, so loading is easier, while central districts such as Al Malaz, Al Olaya and Al Sulaimaniyah have older buildings and narrower streets that need planning for truck parking.
We also serve eastern and western districts such as Al Rawdah, Al Naseem, Al Shifa, Al Aziziyah, Al Badiah and Al Suwaidi. If you are also moving within Riyadh before the trip, see our furniture moving service in Riyadh to combine a short move with the long one on the same day.
What happens when the furniture reaches Jeddah?
On arrival the unloading crew follows the same box numbers: large furniture first into its rooms, then appliances, then boxes. Jeddah is a city of towers and high-rise buildings on the Corniche and in the north, so before the trip we ask about lift booking and building rules, and whether a furniture lift is needed if a piece is larger than the lift door.
We deliver to all Jeddah districts, including Al Rawdah, Al Safa, Al Zahra, Al Salamah, Al Hamra, Al Shati, Al Nuzha, Al Marwah, Al Faisaliyah and the newer northern districts. Once you settle in, small moves inside the city are covered by our furniture moving service in Jeddah, and special pieces such as antiques and classic bedrooms by furniture moving in Jeddah.

Does the price include dismantling and assembly in both cities?
Yes. In the full-home package the price covers dismantling bedrooms, wardrobes and removable kitchens in Riyadh and assembling them in Jeddah. The carpenter who dismantles numbers and photographs the parts, and the Jeddah crew assembles from the same numbers, which is why the wardrobe comes back as it was, with no crooked doors or missing screws.
Window and split air conditioners are removed and packed in Riyadh; installation in Jeddah is agreed in advance because it needs brackets, copper piping and power ready in the new home. Curtains and light fittings are taken down and packed, and refitting is done as agreed.
Is there insurance for furniture on the road?
Insurance is an optional extra you can request for this long route, calculated on the value of the furniture that you declare. We recommend it for expensive furniture or new appliances and arrange the details before loading day. In every case we photograph valuable pieces before loading and after unloading, and sign an inventory list with you showing the number of boxes and items.
⚠️ Items we do not load on the truck
Gold, cash, official papers, passports and essential medicines stay with you in your car. Gas cylinders and flammable materials are not loaded with furniture on a long trip.
What if the Jeddah home is not ready on arrival day?
It often happens that the Jeddah flat is handed over late or needs painting and cleaning, while the date for leaving the Riyadh home is fixed. There is no need to keep a loaded truck waiting for days: we move the furniture into temporary furniture storage in a closed warehouse and deliver it on the date you choose. The storage price is agreed by duration and volume.
How can you lower the cost of moving to Jeddah?
The biggest saving comes from a smaller load, because truck size and crew size are set by it. Two weeks before the move, walk through the home room by room and ask of each piece: will I use it in Jeddah? A worn-out sofa, spare metal beds and appliances that barely work can cost more to move than to replace there, and you can offer them to our used furniture buying service before you travel.
- Pack the small boxes yourself (clothes, books, unbreakable kitchenware) so the crew focuses on furniture and appliances.
- Pick a midweek day if you can; demand on this route rises at weekends and before the school year starts.
- Tell us early about floors and lifts in both homes; surprises on unloading day mean extra time.
- Combine the belongings of more than one family member in a single move instead of two trips.
These simple steps can save a whole truck size, cut hours of dismantling and assembly and, above all, make arrival day in Jeddah calmer and quicker.

Tips before moving furniture from Riyadh to Jeddah
- Get rid of pieces you no longer need; every piece left behind saves truck space and assembly time.
- Switch off and dry the fridge a full day before, and drain the washing machine.
- Keep a first-night box for Jeddah with chargers, basic tools and a day’s clothes.
- Measure entrances and lift doors in the new home if you have a large sofa or a double-door fridge.
- If you may later move to Makkah or nearby, see furniture moving from Riyadh to Makkah because the arrangements differ.
Moving a home between two cities this far apart is not measured by the truck price alone, but by everything arriving complete and assembled in one day so your life in Jeddah starts without weeks of repairs. That is what we plan for from the first call.
