Saudi Express is a shipping company from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait that moves your furniture, car and personal belongings by road in closed trucks. How much does shipping from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait cost?
Shipping from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait starts from SAR 46 for a small parcel, SAR 185 for a box or suitcase, SAR 920 for a bedroom, SAR 1,390 for a small apartment and SAR 1,110 for a car on a shared carrier. The final price depends on the volume of your belongings, the loading city and the area where you receive in Kuwait.
We price home furniture by the space it takes in the truck, small items by the box or by weight, and commercial goods by the kilo. That is why we do not quote for a whole house before knowing what is in it: a spacious Kuwaiti home with men’s and women’s majlis and many bedrooms is very different from a small flat belonging to a student or a single employee. Send us photos of each room or a list of the large pieces, and we will calculate the volume and suggest the right truck.
Distance from your city to the Kuwaiti border also affects the price: a load from Khobar or Jubail reaches Khafji in hours, while one from Jeddah or Abha crosses the Kingdom from the west or south. Floor level and lifts at both ends matter too, as does dismantling a kitchen or air conditioners and crating delicate pieces in wood.
What does the price include?
Our furniture-moving price covers dismantling, packing materials and cartons, loading, transport in a closed truck, preparing the customs declaration and following it through both crossings, and unloading and reassembly in Kuwait. Anything outside the price we tell you before booking, not after: government charges, if any, on new or commercial items, insurance if you ask for it, storage if you need it, and removal of air conditioners and kitchens if they were not mentioned at the survey.
An example of the difference: a family moving from a two-bedroom flat in Khobar to a flat in Salmiya, with about 18 cubic metres of furniture, needs only part of a shared truck through Khafji. Another family moving from a villa in Riyadh to a house in Jahra fills a whole trailer and needs a private truck through Ruqi. The service is the same, but volume, crossing and truck type change the price.
The following table brings together starting prices for shipping services from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait:

Khafji or Ruqi? The right crossing for your city
Road freight from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait has two crossings: Al Khafji on the coast, facing Kuwait’s Al Nuwaiseeb, and Al Ruqi near Hafar Al-Batin, facing Al Salmi. We use the one closest to the loading city: loads from Dammam, Khobar, Jubail and Al-Ahsa head north along the coast to Khafji, while loads from Riyadh, Qassim, Hail and Madinah head to Hafar Al-Batin and then Ruqi.
The difference between the two is the road, not the paperwork. Khafji brings the shipment into southern Kuwait near Ahmadi, Fahaheel and Wafra, while Ruqi brings it in from the west near Jahra and Salmi. So if your home is in or near Jahra and the load is from Riyadh, Ruqi is shorter; if the load is from the Eastern Province and your home is in Ahmadi or Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Khafji is closer. In busy seasons we may switch the truck to the crossing with the shorter queue.
This table shows the usual crossing and approximate time from the main Saudi cities to Kuwait:
| Loading city | Usual crossing | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Qatif | Khafji → Nuwaiseeb | 1 to 3 days |
| Jubail, Ras Tanura, Nairyah | Khafji → Nuwaiseeb | 1 to 2 days |
| Al-Ahsa (Hofuf, Mubarraz) | Khafji → Nuwaiseeb | 2 to 3 days |
| Riyadh, Al Kharj, Majmaah, Zulfi | Ruqi → Salmi | 2 to 4 days |
| Hafar Al-Batin, Qaisumah | Ruqi → Salmi | 1 to 2 days |
| Buraydah, Unaizah, Ar Rass, Hail | Ruqi → Salmi | 2 to 4 days |
| Madinah, Yanbu, Tabuk | Ruqi → Salmi | 4 to 7 days |
| Jeddah, Makkah, Taif | Ruqi or Khafji depending on the road | 4 to 7 days |
| Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran | via Riyadh, then Ruqi | 5 to 8 days |
From the Eastern Province and Al-Ahsa: the coastal road
From Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Qatif and Saihat the truck heads north via Jubail and then Nairyah or the coastal road to Khafji. We collect from Khobar districts such as Al Aqrabiyah, Al Rakah and the Golden Belt, from Dammam districts such as Al Faisaliyah, Al Shati and Al Mazruiyah, and from Hofuf, Mubarraz and Al Uyun in Al-Ahsa. This is the shortest and most regular route, so shared trucks run on it often.
From Riyadh, Qassim and Hail: the Hafar Al-Batin road
From Riyadh the truck takes the northern road to Majmaah and then Hafar Al-Batin to the Ruqi crossing, and we collect from every part of the city: the north such as Al Malqa, Hittin and Al Sahafa, the east such as Al Nadhim and Al Rayyan, and the south such as Al Shifa and Al Aziziyah. Loads from Buraydah, Unaizah and Hail join this road before Hafar Al-Batin, so their transit is close to Riyadh’s.
From Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and the south
Shipping from the west and south to Kuwait is a long journey through Qassim or Riyadh before turning towards the border. We collect from Jeddah, Makkah, Taif, Madinah and Yanbu, and from Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran, and on these routes we pay special attention to securing the load inside the box, because long roads mean more vibration and braking.
Each major city has its own page with local details and districts: shipping from Riyadh to Kuwait, shipping from Jeddah to Kuwait, shipping from Al-Ahsa to Kuwait, shipping from Qassim to Kuwait, shipping from Makkah to Kuwait and shipping from Madinah to Kuwait.
Shipping time from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait
Shipping from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait takes one to three days from the Eastern Province and Hafar Al-Batin, two to four days from Riyadh and Qassim, and four to seven days from Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah. These times are for a private truck; shared freight may need an extra day or two for the load to fill.
Kuwait is one of the closest Gulf states to the Kingdom’s main cities, so someone in Dammam or Khobar can load in the morning and receive in Kuwait the next day if the papers are ready and the crossing is quiet. What stretches the time is usually off the road: a declaration with something missing, items that need a permit, or an unloading slot not arranged with the building guard in Salmiya or Hawalli.
Time at the Kuwaiti border varies with the calendar; weekends, school holidays and Eid bring heavier traffic of travellers and trucks. We tell you before loading when the truck is expected to cross, and if anything changes at the border we call you straight away so you can plan your delivery.
What do we ship from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait?
We ship everything a home or business needs to Kuwait: household furniture, cars, parcels and luggage, electrical appliances, office furniture and commercial goods. Each has its own preparation and the vehicle that suits it, and all of it passes through the same crossings in closed trucks. Our shipping to Kuwait page lists the services on this route in detail.
Moving home furniture from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait
Moving home furniture from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait starts from SAR 920 for a bedroom and SAR 1,390 for a small apartment, and includes dismantling, packing, inventory, loading, delivery and reassembly. Our crew works inside your home as if it were their own: they cover the corridors, protect doors and stairs, and start with the rooms furthest from the entrance so the way to the truck stays clear.

The dressing room is one of the slowest rooms to pack because it is full of small things. Hanging clothes travel in tall wardrobe boxes with a rail so they arrive uncreased, shoes go in their own boxes or clear containers inside cartons, and leather bags are stuffed with paper to keep their shape. The Arabic majlis common in Kuwaiti and Saudi homes has its cushions and backrests rolled into thick bags and stacked so nothing heavy presses on them.
Carpets, antiques and heavy pieces
Hand-made carpets are cleaned of dust and rolled on a tube, never folded, then covered in plastic on the outside only. Antiques, glassware and crystal are wrapped piece by piece and placed in small padded cartons marked fragile and this side up. Heavy items such as steel safes and gym equipment need a larger crew and sometimes a lift, so tell us about them in advance.
Kitchens, air conditioners and appliances
A wooden kitchen is dismantled unit by unit once emptied, with upper and lower cabinets numbered in order, and the marble or granite worktop is wrapped separately because it cracks if carried with the cabinet. A split air conditioner is removed by a technician who pumps the gas back first, and a window unit is wrapped in cardboard and a blanket. The fridge is switched off a day before loading and travels upright, the washing-machine drum is secured, and screens go upright in reinforced cartons.
If your Kuwait home is new and has no kitchen fitted yet, send us the layout or wall measurements before shipping; some kitchens fit as they are, others need a small adjustment, and knowing this before shipping saves you paying to move parts you will not use.
Car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait
We ship cars from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait on shared car carriers from SAR 1,110, or on a private closed carrier for luxury, classic and electric cars. The car is strapped down by its wheels and covered against dust, and it arrives within roughly the road-freight transit time. Our car shipping page explains the carrier types in detail.

Before shipping we check that the car is registered in your name, its fines are paid and its registration card is valid. If ownership is moving to Kuwait, the car needs an export certificate from the Saudi traffic department. In Kuwait, a car under 10 years old receives its import permit automatically, while older cars need prior approval before the permit is issued; customs duty is about 5% of the value, followed by technical inspection, registration and Kuwaiti insurance.
If you will drive to Kuwait yourself, you need the original valid registration card and a driving licence, an external authorization through Absher if you are not the owner, and insurance covering Kuwait. If you need temporary entry for your car into a country that asks for a customs pass, see our triptyque page.
Shared carrier or private carrier?
A shared carrier takes several cars on two decks; it is the economical choice for ordinary cars and leaves when the load is full. A private carrier or hydraulic flatbed takes one or two cars and leaves on your date, and suits luxury, low and classic cars that should not climb a steep ramp. Either way the car is photographed from every side before loading and the odometer reading is recorded, and it is handed over to you against the same photos on arrival.
Road, air and sea freight to Kuwait compared
Road freight suits most of what is shipped from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait, air suits urgent light items, and sea suits large commercial containers. The choice comes down to three questions: how big is the shipment, when do you need it, and do you want it at your door or in a warehouse.
Road freight goes door to door with no intermediate unloading, takes any size from one box to a whole house, and is quick on this route in particular because Kuwait is close to the main Saudi cities. Air is a day or two faster at most, but it is charged by volumetric weight, so it gets expensive for bulky items. Sea is slower and needs two sets of port formalities, but it cuts the cost for anyone shipping hundreds of cartons of goods.
| Method | Suits | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Road, private truck | homes, villas and offices | 1 to 4 days from the Eastern Province and Riyadh |
| Road, shared truck | a room, boxes or appliances | a day or two more than private |
| Air | documents, medicines, spare parts and small devices | 2 to 3 days door to door |
| Sea | containers of goods and equipment | longer than road due to two port procedures |
Air freight from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait
Air freight from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait is the option when a shipment cannot wait: a passport or official papers, prescribed medicine, a spare part for a stopped machine, or a device an employee needs on day one. It flies from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam airports to Kuwait International Airport and usually arrives within two to three days door to door. Details are on our air freight page.

Airlines weigh a shipment two ways and charge the higher: weight on the scale, and volumetric weight, found by multiplying the box dimensions in centimetres and dividing by 6,000. For example, a 50 × 50 × 48 cm box has a volumetric weight of about 20 kg, so if it holds light clothes weighing 7 kg it is charged as 20. That is why we suggest air for small, heavy items and road for anything bulky. Air prices to Kuwait change with weight and flights, so ask for the price by call or WhatsApp.
Sea freight for goods to Kuwaiti ports
Sea freight from King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam to Shuwaikh or Shuaiba suits traders shipping full containers of goods or heavy equipment. For individuals it is rarely practical, because the road is shorter, faster and delivers to the door without port handling; for large commercial volumes, though, a container reduces the number of trucks and makes storage in the industrial area easier. Truck details for this route are on our land freight page.
Office moves and refrigerated shipping to Kuwait
We move company offices and showrooms from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait over a weekend if you prefer, so work does not stop. We dismantle desks and filing cabinets, pack computers and printers in reinforced cartons, number everything to the new floor plan, then unload and arrange in Kuwait so each employee finds their desk in place. We suggest backing up data before dismantling, and locking cabinets with their keys kept in one envelope with the person in charge.
Dates, heat-sensitive food and medicines that must stay cool travel in refrigerated trucks that hold a steady temperature for the whole journey. This suits traders, sweet and date shops, and families who want to send soft dates in summer; the price depends on quantity and date, so ask for the price by call or WhatsApp.
Documents and customs clearance at the Kuwaiti border
Paperwork for personal shipping to Kuwait is simple: a copy of the sender’s ID or iqama, a copy of the recipient’s Kuwaiti civil ID or passport, and a detailed list of items. We prepare the customs declaration and submit it before the truck reaches the crossing, then follow it until the truck leaves the Kuwaiti side.

- Individuals: ID or iqama, the recipient’s details and address in Kuwait, and a numbered inventory.
- Cars: original registration card, the owner’s ID, an export certificate when ownership moves, and paid fines.
- Traders: commercial invoice, certificate of origin, packing list with weights, commercial registration and the importer’s customs number in Kuwait.
Border inspection may be by X-ray or by hand, and in a manual inspection some boxes are opened and compared against the list. This is where an accurate list pays off: a box labelled “kitchen tools and plates” is opened and closed in minutes, while one labelled “miscellaneous” can lead to the whole truck being opened.
Final return to Kuwait and duty exemption for belongings
Used furniture and personal effects of a citizen returning to Kuwait, or of a resident moving there for the first time, are normally exempt from customs duty under the unified GCC customs law, provided they are used and for personal use. Cars are not covered by this exemption and have their own fees and procedures.
This matters to Kuwaiti families who lived in the Kingdom for work or study and are going home, and to employees transferred between company branches. Our advice is not to mix new items in their boxes with used belongings without listing them; a new appliance with its invoice may be treated as goods, and it is clearer to list it as it is.
Items you cannot ship to Kuwait
Restricted items for Kuwait are much the same as across the Gulf, with stricter handling of some categories. We do not accept in the truck:
- Petrol, gas and gas cylinders even when empty, paints, solvents and pesticides.
- Weapons, ammunition, fireworks and replica weapons.
- Unregistered medicines or medicines without a prescription, and supplements in commercial quantities.
- Loose lithium batteries not fitted in their devices.
- Counterfeit goods and material that breaches regulations or public decency.
- Perishable food, plants and soil.
Perfume is allowed in personal quantities with good packing, and personal medicines with their prescription or pharmacy invoice. Cash, gold and original documents do not go in the truck at all; carry them with you.
Steps for shipping from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait
From the first message to the last piece reassembled in your Kuwait home, shipping with us follows these steps:
- Send us on 0560533140 your loading city, your area in Kuwait and photos of your items.
- We calculate the volume, choose the crossing and truck type, and give you the price and date.
- You prepare ID copies and recipient details, and we prepare the customs declaration.
- The crew arrives on time, dismantles, packs, numbers, loads and locks the box.
- The truck heads to Khafji or Ruqi, and we update you at every stage.
- After crossing we call the recipient and set the unloading time.
- We unload and reassemble, you check the list and sign for delivery.
If your Kuwait home is not ready yet, we keep the furniture in a closed warehouse until you receive it; details are on our furniture storage page.
How do we protect your belongings on the way to Kuwait?
We protect your belongings in three layers: packing suited to each material, planned loading that puts heavy items low and against the box walls, and a closed box locked after loading and not opened on the road. The load is held with straps and divider boards so pieces do not shift under braking or on bends.
You can insure the shipment for a value you set, and before loading we explain what the cover includes and excludes. On delivery, check the pieces with the crew present and write any remark on the inventory before signing; that sheet is the reference for any later review.
Kuwaiti governorates and areas we deliver to
We deliver shipments from Saudi Arabia to all six Kuwaiti governorates, and we arrange the unloading time with you a day before the truck arrives.

In apartment buildings we agree a lift slot with the building guard, and for houses we check access for the truck. If the person receiving is not the shipment owner, we need their name and civil ID number so they can receive and sign the inventory.
Shipping parcels, luggage and store goods to Kuwait
Parcel shipping from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait starts from SAR 46 for a small parcel and SAR 185 for a box or suitcase, sent with the shared trucks that run regularly on the route. It suits a student sending books and clothes, a family sending gifts to relatives, or an employee who left things behind after moving.
For online stores and factories we ship goods by the kilo in consolidated loads from SAR 2.8 per kg, or by full truck for weekly volumes. We collect from your warehouse in Riyadh or Dammam, clear the goods and deliver to a warehouse in Shuwaikh, Sulaibiya or any area the customer names.
Before loading day: a checklist for shipping to Kuwait
Good preparation saves at least a full day. In the days before loading:
- Ask the recipient in Kuwait to have their civil ID ready and their phone available on delivery day.
- Sort what you will take and what you will leave, and do not ship furniture that will not fit the new home.
- Pay any car fines and obtain the export certificate well before the shipping date.
- Empty the fridge and freezer a day before loading and unplug them.
- Keep important papers, gold and daily medicines in your hand luggage.
- Book the building lift in Kuwait for unloading day if you live in an apartment.
