Saudi Express moves your household from Riyadh to Jordan as a complete removal: carpenters dismantle wardrobes, beds and kitchens, a crew packs each item in the right material and records every carton by number and contents, then a closed truck carries the furniture by road to the Al Haditha crossing and the Al Omari border centre and on to your home in Amman, Zarqa or Irbid, where it is unloaded and reassembled room by room. The move usually takes 4 to 7 days from loading. Moving a bedroom starts from SAR 1,110 and an apartment from SAR 3,250. Call or WhatsApp 0560533140 to arrange a survey.

Furniture moving prices from Riyadh to Jordan
Furniture moving from Riyadh to Jordan starts from SAR 1,110 for a bedroom and from SAR 3,250 for a full apartment. The price rises with the number of rooms, the size of the pieces and extra services such as taking down and refitting a kitchen or building wooden crates for fragile items. We measure volume after packing, not before: a sofa wrapped in two layers takes slightly more space, while a dismantled wardrobe takes far less than an assembled one.
Starting prices for the most common home moves from Riyadh to Jordan:
| What you move | What the price covers | Starts from (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Bedroom | Bed and wardrobe dismantled, packed, loaded, reassembled in Jordan | 1,110 |
| Apartment contents | Rooms, living room, free-standing kitchen items and appliances | 3,250 |
| Fridge or washing machine | Emptied, dried and padded | 555 |
| Split AC | Both units removed and packed | 465 |
| 65-inch TV | Reinforced carton with corner guards | 370 |
| Carton of belongings | Standard numbered carton on the inventory | 93 |
| Villa or large house | One or more full trucks | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
| Fitted wooden kitchen | Dismantled, numbered, packed and refitted | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
Some things genuinely lower the bill: getting rid of what you will not use in Jordan before the move, packing your own clothes and books if you wish, and choosing a flexible loading date so we can combine your goods with a truck heading to the same governorate. On the other hand, high floors without a lift, heavy marble pieces and urgent same-day requests that need a dedicated truck all raise the price.
What sets the price of moving your furniture to Jordan?
The price of moving furniture to Jordan is set first by the volume in cubic metres, then by access to the home at both ends, then by the type of pieces and extra services. These are the factors as we actually calculate them:
- Volume after packing: a two-bedroom flat with a living room usually fills 20 to 30 cubic metres, and a villa can exceed a full truck.
- Floors and lifts: a third floor or higher without a lift needs more crew and more time in Riyadh and in Jordan.
- Kitchens and AC units: taking down and refitting a fitted kitchen, or removing many AC units, is charged separately.
- Wooden crates: built to the size of the piece and charged per crate.
- Shipping method: sharing a truck is cheaper; a dedicated truck is faster and dearer.
- Governorate in Jordan: Aqaba, Ma’an and Karak are further than Amman and Zarqa after the border.
That is why we never give a final price before seeing the home, even on video. Two homes with the same number of rooms can differ a lot because of a large majlis, a wall of books or a floor without a lift.
How many cubic metres does your home take up?
Knowing the rough volume of your furniture helps you understand the price before the survey and decide between a dedicated or shared truck. These are approximate volumes for rooms after dismantling and packing, and they vary with the number and size of pieces:
| Room or item | Approximate volume after packing | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Single bedroom | 5 to 8 cubic metres | Bed, wardrobe and dressing table |
| Master bedroom | 9 to 14 cubic metres | A large wardrobe pushes it up |
| Arabic majlis or living room | 6 to 12 cubic metres | Cushions and side tables included |
| Free-standing kitchen and appliances | 4 to 8 cubic metres | Fridge, washer, cooker and cartons of dishes |
| Children’s room | 4 to 7 cubic metres | Toys and books add cartons |
Add two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen and you usually reach 25 or 30 cubic metres, a size that generally suits a dedicated truck. These figures are only a guide; the volume we price on is what we see at the survey.
How long does furniture moving from Riyadh to Jordan take?
Moving furniture from Riyadh to Jordan usually takes 4 to 7 days: one or two days for dismantling, packing and loading, one or two days on the road to Al Haditha, one to three days for formalities at both borders, then a day for unloading and reassembly. A large house with a wooden kitchen and many AC units may need an extra loading day, and a final return that goes through an exemption request may take longer at Jordanian customs until the papers are complete.
We normally plan the schedule so the furniture arrives a day or two after you land in Jordan, so it never waits outside a locked house. If your home in Jordan is still being renovated, it is wiser to keep the furniture packed in our Riyadh warehouse until it is ready rather than store it in unknown conditions there. See our furniture storage page.
Home survey and inventory before the move
The first step in moving your home to Jordan is the survey, either a visit from our representative or a video call walking through the rooms. From it we write an inventory in which every piece and every carton is numbered. This list is not just for us: it is what customs see at Al Haditha and Al Omari, what your belongings are checked against when unloaded in Jordan, and the basis of any claim if something is damaged.
In the inventory we note the type of piece, its colour and how many parts it has after dismantling, photograph valuables such as antiques and appliances, and mark each carton with its number and the room it goes to in the new home. It may look like excessive detail, but it saves hours on unloading day and stops screws and small bed fittings going missing.
Dismantling by carpenters and packing
Wardrobes, beds and dining tables are dismantled by carpenters, not just loaders, because careless dismantling breaks hinges and strips the screw holes in particle board, and the wardrobe is never steady again once rebuilt in Jordan. Each set of screws goes in a bag labelled with the piece name and taped to its largest part.

We suggest wooden crates for marble table tops, large mirrors, paintings and chandeliers, because the road to Al Haditha is long and parts of it shake the truck. We do not force a crate on every glass item; small pieces are fine with good wrapping and correct stacking.
Particle board and ready-made furniture
Furniture made of particle board, like many showroom pieces, needs extra care because it does not tolerate repeated dismantling. We take it apart as little as possible and keep the original screws, and if a piece is small and rigid we move it assembled and fully wrapped. Solid wood furniture dismantles well but is heavy, so it needs hand trolleys and thick blankets to keep its edges from being scratched.
Kitchens, AC units and appliances
Fitted wooden kitchens are taken down unit by unit after the water and power are disconnected, each unit numbered with a simple sketch showing its position, and the doors are packed separately from the carcasses. In Jordan, refitting depends on the new wall measurements; if they differ a lot, a local carpenter may need to adjust it, so we ask for the new kitchen dimensions before dismantling if you have them.
Split AC units are removed with both parts, with the refrigerant pumped into the outdoor unit where possible, and the pipes and cables are wrapped. We do not ship old cut copper piping because it is rarely fit for reinstallation. The fridge is switched off and dried at least six hours before loading, and the washing machine drum is fixed with transit bolts if available or with internal padding.
Mind the power difference: the supply in Saudi Arabia is 230 volts at 60 hertz, while in Jordan it is 230 volts at 50 hertz. Most modern devices such as televisions, computers and chargers run on both without trouble, but some motor-driven appliances like older washing machines, window AC units and oven clocks may behave slightly differently. Check the label on the back: if it says 50/60Hz, it works in both countries.
Do not ship a cooking gas cylinder even if empty, or tins of pesticide and paint. If found in the truck they are stopped at inspection and confiscated.
Moving students’ and single workers’ belongings to Jordan
Not every move to Jordan is a whole house. Many students and single employees move one room, a few cartons and an appliance or two. We combine these small shipments into a truck heading to Jordan with other families’ furniture, so you pay only for the volume of your belongings, and they travel with their own inventory and a number on each carton. Students should seal book cartons well and keep them small, because a large carton full of books becomes very heavy and tears when carried.
Loading day in Riyadh: what to prepare
Loading day goes smoothly when the house is prepared the day before: drawers empty or taped shut, clothes in suitcases or cartons, and documents, gold and medicines in a personal bag that stays with you. We also need the truck parking spot to be free, and the building lift booked if the management requires it.
- Empty the fridge and switch it off at least six hours ahead.
- Bag and label the screws and small fittings of anything you dismantled yourself.
- Mark items that are not moving with coloured tape so they are not loaded by mistake.
- Have your ID and passport copies, the Jordan address and the recipient’s number ready.
- Be present, or send someone, for the final inventory and the sealing of the truck.
How your furniture reaches the Jordanian border
Your furniture leaves Riyadh in a closed truck locked after the inventory and heads north towards Al Jouf to the governorate of Al Qurayyat, where the Al Haditha crossing is, then crosses to the Al Omari border centre and continues via Azraq towards Amman. We use this crossing because it is the closest and most regular for anyone coming from central Saudi Arabia, while moves from Jeddah and Madinah usually cross at Halat Ammar.
At both crossings the load is checked by X-ray or by randomly opening some cartons, and this is where a numbered inventory pays off: the inspector asks for carton number so-and-so and we pull it out directly instead of unloading half the truck. Fully wrapped furniture is only opened if the inspector suspects something, and after the check we re-wrap it as it was.
Documents for moving to Jordan and the final-return exemption
To move furniture to Jordan you need copies of your passport and ID or iqama, the detailed inventory and the recipient’s details in Jordan. We handle the export declaration on FASAH and clearance at Al Haditha and Al Omari.
Anyone returning to Jordan for good after a long stay abroad can apply for an exemption on used furniture and personal effects under Jordan Customs rules. The main conditions are proof of residence abroad and its termination, and that the goods are used, for personal use and in reasonable quantities. In that case we ask you for the exit or end-of-residence certificate and write the inventory clearly so the customs officer can check it easily.
New appliances in their boxes and repeated quantities of the same item can take part of the shipment out of the exemption and be treated as goods. Buy new items in Jordan if you can.
Insurance during the move
Insurance is optional and calculated as a percentage of the value you declare for your belongings. It covers loss and breakage caused by transport accidents, and usually does not cover items the owner packed personally or internal electrical faults in old appliances. We recommend it for new furniture or valuable pieces, and in that case we ask for clear photos of the items before dismantling as a reference.
What cannot go in furniture moved to Jordan
A household move to Jordan cannot include flammable or pressurised materials, weapons or their parts, medicines without prescription, or perishable food.
- Gas cylinders, petrol, kerosene, lighters, fireworks.
- Pesticides, paints, solvents and concentrated cleaning products.
- Loose batteries and large lithium batteries outside their devices.
- Medicines without prescription and supplements in large quantities.
- Meat, dairy and cooked food, plants, seeds and soil.
- Cash, gold and original documents; these stay with you.
Can the car move with the furniture to Jordan?
Yes. The car travels from Riyadh to Jordan on a car carrier scheduled with your furniture or close to it, and a sedan on a shared carrier starts from SAR 1,110. The car does not go in the furniture truck, and nothing from the house goes inside the car.

A car staying in Jordan must be eligible for import: right-hand drive is not accepted, nor flood or fire damaged cars, nor electric cars more than three years past manufacture. Shipping details and documents are in our article on the shipping company from Riyadh to Jordan and on the car shipping page.
Air freight for what you need in your first days in Jordan
Air freight from Riyadh to Jordan suits what you need as soon as you arrive and cannot wait for the truck, such as the children’s clothes, school books, a laptop and work documents. It takes 2 to 4 days from King Khalid Airport to Queen Alia Airport in Amman. The furniture itself makes no sense by air; it costs several times the road price.
Air is charged on the greater of the real weight and the volumetric weight, which is the product of the dimensions in centimetres divided by 6,000. A 70 × 50 × 40 cm carton counts as about 23 kg even if it is lighter, so fill it well or split your things into smaller parcels.

Unloading and reassembly across Jordan
When the truck arrives we call you a few hours ahead, unload and place everything in the rooms according to the carton numbers, reassemble beds, wardrobes and tables, and check the pieces against the inventory with you. We deliver to every governorate in Jordan, most often Amman and its districts, Zarqa and Irbid.

| Governorate | Areas we often deliver to | Delivery note |
|---|---|---|
| Amman | Tla’ Al Ali, Khalda, Dabouq, Shafa Badran, Hashmi, Jabal Al Nuzha, Al Muqabalain | Narrow hillside streets; we arrange parking in advance |
| Zarqa | New Zarqa, Russeifa, Hashemiyeh | Close to the Al Omari road, reached early |
| Irbid | Irbid city, Ramtha, Al Husn | Usually one extra day after release |
| Other governorates | Mafraq, Salt, Madaba, Jerash, Ajloun, Karak, Ma’an, Aqaba | Date set once the truck leaves Al Omari |
In older Amman buildings the stairs are often narrow and the lifts small, so wardrobes go in dismantled and are built inside the room. If you live on an upper floor without a lift, we tell you in advance whether a large piece needs an outside hoist, so there are no surprises on delivery day. For our full Jordan coverage from Saudi cities see the shipping to Jordan page.

Steps to move your furniture from Riyadh to Jordan
- Survey: a visit or video call on 0560533140 to set the volume and services.
- Agreement: price, loading date and a delivery date that suits your arrival.
- Dismantling, packing and inventory: carpenters, packing crew and a numbered list.
- Loading and export: a closed truck and an export declaration on FASAH.
- Border: Al Haditha then Al Omari, plus exemption formalities for a final return.
- Unloading and reassembly: at your home in Jordan, checked against the inventory.
Mistakes that keep happening on moves to Jordan
- Leaving it to the last day: booking two days before your flight gets you an available truck, not the right one.
- Filling wardrobes with clothes: a full wardrobe cannot be dismantled or carried safely and is damaged by the weight.
- Forgetting to measure the new home: a sofa that will not fit the flat door in Amman is a problem discovered a thousand kilometres later.
- Shipping very old appliances: a washing machine that barely works may not be worth the cost of moving and clearing it.
- Hiding things in cartons: anything not on the inventory holds up the whole shipment at inspection.
Tips for a family moving from Riyadh to Jordan
- Start sorting at least two weeks before you travel; it is harder than you think in a home you have lived in for years.
- Sell or donate bulky, cheap furniture; moving it can cost close to buying new in Jordan.
- Check the door and lift sizes of the new home before moving a large sofa or a wardrobe that does not come apart.
- Keep your end-of-residence certificate and copies of your work contract if you will apply for the exemption.
- Photograph appliances while they are running before disconnecting them, so you know their condition when switched on in Jordan.
