Saudi Express is a shipping company from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain that moves homes and offices and ships cars, parcels, appliances and goods by road over the King Fahd Causeway, which links Khobar directly to Bahrain. We collect from Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Al-Ahsa, Riyadh, Jeddah and every Saudi city, dismantle, pack and inventory, clear the shipment in the customs area on the causeway, then deliver to Manama, Muharraq, Riffa or anywhere in Bahrain and reassemble the furniture. From the Eastern Province a shipment usually arrives within one or two days, from Riyadh within two to three, and car shipping starts from SAR 790. Reach us by call or WhatsApp on 0560533140.

Shipping prices from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain
Shipping from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain starts from SAR 140 for parcels, SAR 280 for an electrical appliance, SAR 790 for a car on a shared carrier, SAR 1,670 for a one-bedroom flat and SAR 2,320 for a full apartment. How much you ship, where it is loaded and which part of Bahrain receives it decide the final figure.
Bahrain is the nearest Gulf state to the Eastern Province, and the drive from Khobar to Manama over the causeway is short, so shipping from Dammam, Khobar and Dhahran costs less than on any other Gulf route. Shipping from Riyadh adds the Riyadh to Dammam highway, and from Jeddah or Madinah it adds a crossing of the whole Kingdom, which shows in the price.
Home and office furniture is priced on truck space used rather than on how many pieces there are. A small office with ten desks and filing cabinets may take the space of a two-bedroom flat, while a home full of furniture that dismantles well may take less space than you expect. We look at your items by photo or survey and then give you the price.
What is included in the price, and what is not?
Our furniture-moving price to Bahrain covers the survey, packing materials and cartons, dismantling, loading, transport in a closed truck, customs clearance on the causeway, and unloading and reassembly. The causeway fee for the truck is part of our transport cost and is not charged to you separately. What may be added depending on your case: insurance at a value you choose, storage if you need it, wooden crates for special pieces, and taking down air conditioners or a kitchen if nobody mentioned them during the survey.
An example of how the price changes: an employee moving a one-bedroom flat from Khobar to Juffair, with about 10 cubic metres of belongings, needs only space on a shared truck that crosses the same day. A company moving an office of twenty desks and an archive from Riyadh to Manama needs a full truck, a larger crew and a fixed weekend crossing. The service is the same; volume, distance and truck type make the difference.

How long does shipping from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain take?
Shipping from the Eastern Province to Bahrain usually takes one to two days, from Riyadh two to three days, from Qassim three to four days, and from Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah four to six days. Air freight from King Fahd Airport in Dammam or King Khalid Airport in Riyadh arrives in one to two days.
A short distance does not mean all the time is spent on the road; an important part of it is in the customs area on the causeway, where the truck is checked and the declaration is matched on the Saudi side and then the Bahraini side. On ordinary days this takes hours; at weekends and holidays the causeway fills with travellers, so we pick lighter crossing times for the truck where we can.
If you live in Khobar or Dhahran and work in Bahrain, or the other way round, you can often move your furniture in a single day when paperwork is complete and the Bahrain building can receive. We start loading in the morning, cross the causeway in the afternoon and unload in the evening or the next morning.
Which Saudi cities do we ship from to Bahrain?
We ship to Bahrain from every Saudi city, and every shipment eventually meets at the King Fahd Causeway in Khobar. The table below shows approximate times from the main cities:
| Loading city | Road to the causeway | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Khobar, Dhahran, Dammam, Qatif | straight to the causeway | 1 to 2 days |
| Jubail, Ras Tanura, Saihat | via Dammam | 1 to 2 days |
| Al-Ahsa, Abqaiq | Al-Ahsa to Dammam road | 1 to 2 days |
| Riyadh, Al Kharj, Muzahmiyah | Riyadh to Dammam highway | 2 to 3 days |
| Buraydah, Unaizah, Ar Rass | via Riyadh or the Qassim to Eastern Province road | 3 to 4 days |
| Hail, Hafar Al-Batin | via Qassim or the northern road | 3 to 5 days |
| Jeddah, Makkah, Taif | via Riyadh, then Dammam | 4 to 6 days |
| Madinah, Yanbu, Tabuk | through Qassim, then Riyadh | 4 to 7 days |
| Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran | through Riyadh and on to Dammam | 5 to 7 days |
The major cities have their own pages: shipping from Riyadh to Bahrain, shipping from Jeddah to Bahrain, shipping from Makkah to Bahrain and shipping from Madinah to Bahrain.
In the Eastern Province we collect from Khobar districts such as Al Thuqbah, North Khobar, the Green Belt and the Corniche area, from Dammam districts such as Al Noor, Al Muraikabat, Al Faisaliyah and King Fahd Suburb, and from Dhahran and its residential compounds by prior arrangement with compound management. In Riyadh we collect from northern districts such as Al Aqiq, Al Yasmin and Al Ghadir, eastern ones such as Al Munsiyah and Al Rimal, and western ones such as Dhahrat Laban. In Jeddah, from Al Shati, Al Zahra, Al Khalidiyah and Al Nuzhah.
The King Fahd Causeway: how does the truck cross to Bahrain?
The King Fahd Causeway is the only road link between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. It starts in Khobar and runs over the sea to the Bahraini coast, and roughly halfway along lies the border area with customs and passport control for both sides, including truck lanes kept separate from traveller lanes.
Before the truck arrives we send the shipment details and inventory to the clearing agent, who prepares the export declaration on the Saudi side and the import declaration on the Bahraini side. When the truck arrives it is X-rayed or partly opened for matching, then continues to Manama. The clearer and more accurate the list, the faster the crossing. All our services on this route are listed on the shipping to Bahrain page.
Anyone crossing the causeway in their own car as a Saudi resident needs an iqama valid for at least three months, a passport valid for six months, an exit and re-entry visa, a driving licence and the car’s registration card or the owner’s authorization. Causeway fees are paid at the gates or in advance through the causeway app. That is for personal travel; furniture and goods cross by truck with their declaration.
Crossing times on the causeway
Truck traffic on the King Fahd Causeway differs from private-car traffic, but both are affected by weekends and holidays. We prefer the truck to reach the customs area early in the morning or midweek, so formalities finish and daylight is left for unloading in Bahrain. If we have to cross on a busy day, we tell you in advance and set unloading for the next day rather than leave the truck waiting overnight.
Moving offices and companies from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain
We move company offices from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain with a plan that gets work going again quickly: we dismantle desks, filing cabinets and computers on the last working day, cross the causeway over the weekend, and set up the new premises before the first working day. This matters because many companies have branches in both Khobar and Manama and move staff and departments between them.
Every item in the office carries a number matching the new floor plan: desk 14 in accounts, cabinet 6 by reception, archive boxes 30 to 45 in the store room. Computers, printers and servers are packed in reinforced cartons with padding, and cables travel in numbered bags with their devices. We suggest a data backup before dismantling and handing all cabinet keys to one responsible person.
In showrooms and shops we dismantle shelving and display units, wrap glass and lighting separately, and move displayed stock in cartons numbered by section. If that stock will be sold in Bahrain, it needs its own commercial papers, separate from the shop fittings.

Tracking your shipment to delivery
From the moment the truck is loaded until it reaches your door you know where it is: we tell you when it leaves the loading city, when it reaches the causeway, when customs is done, and about an hour before it reaches your address. For companies we send updates to the person in charge of the move so staff and working hours can be planned around them.
Moving home furniture from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain
Moving home furniture from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain starts from SAR 1,670 for a one-bedroom flat and SAR 2,320 for a full apartment, including dismantling, packing, transport, clearance and assembly. The crew arrives with all packing materials, protects floors and doors, and starts with the large pieces before the boxes.

In bedrooms the drawers are emptied before wrapping, because a full drawer adds weight and strains the joints, then bedside tables and dressers are wrapped in blankets with drawers held by tape that leaves no mark. The bed is taken apart panel by panel, its screws bagged and tied to it, and the mattress goes into a fitted bag against dust. A large wardrobe is broken down into doors and panels, with mirrors wrapped on their own.
Living-room sofas and majlis seating are wrapped in fabric and then blankets, and glass tables have their tops removed and packed in reinforced cartons. Dishes and glasses are wrapped one by one, books go into small cartons because they are heavy, and clothes into hanging boxes. Every carton carries a number and a room name.
Kitchens and air conditioners
A wooden kitchen is dismantled once emptied, its cabinets numbered by position, and the marble worktop wrapped separately. For a split air conditioner, a technician first gathers the gas into the outdoor unit and then takes it down, and both units are wrapped in cardboard and a blanket. In Bahrain the unit needs a local technician and a suitable power point to refit, which we can arrange. Send us the wall measurements of the new kitchen before shipping so you know whether it will go up as it is.
Car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain
Shipping a car from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain starts from SAR 790 on a shared carrier, and luxury, electric and classic cars can travel in a private closed carrier. The car is covered and strapped down and crosses the causeway with the carrier in the truck lane. Our car shipping page has carrier details.

An electric car needs particular care: its battery should sit somewhere between about 30% and 50% charge, any portable charger is taken out, and it is secured from the tie-down points the manufacturer specifies, not just anywhere. A regular car ships with a quarter tank of fuel and nothing inside.
If the car will be registered in Bahrain, used cars up to ten years old from manufacture may be imported, and we confirm the rule at booking. Before shipping we check with you that ownership is in your name if needed, fines are paid and an export certificate has been issued by the traffic department. In Bahrain the car is inspected, insured and registered, and fees may apply depending on its condition and customs papers.
Driving over the causeway yourself? Bring the valid original registration card, your licence, insurance that covers Bahrain, and, for a car that is not yours, the owner’s external authorization issued through Absher. Our triptyque page covers temporary car entry into countries that require a customs pass.
Air freight from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain
Air freight from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain starts from SAR 14 per kg and arrives in one to two days from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh or King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to Bahrain International Airport. Because the road to Bahrain is short, air is mostly used for shipments from the west and south, or for things that must arrive almost the same day. Details are on our air freight page.

Air freight is charged on the heavier of actual and volumetric weight, where volumetric weight is length times width times height in centimetres, divided by 6,000. A small, tightly rolled rug is a good example of what suits air: fairly heavy for its size. A sofa, by contrast, is bulky and its volumetric weight far exceeds its real weight, so it belongs in a truck.
What typically suits air freight to Bahrain: a passport or official papers someone needs the same day, a spare part for a stopped machine in a Sitra factory, samples for an exhibition in Manama, or small valuable devices. Furniture and large boxes, on the other hand, are faster and far cheaper by truck over the causeway, because the road is short and delivery is door to door.
Parcels, appliances and commercial goods to Bahrain
Personal parcels to Bahrain start from SAR 140, electrical appliances from SAR 280, and commercial goods up to 50 kg from SAR 930 including clearance. They go with the shared trucks that cross the causeway regularly, reaching Bahrain from the Eastern Province in a day or two.
For shops and distributors we ship goods by full or shared truck with a commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list, delivering to a warehouse in Sitra, the industrial area or any address. Goods of Saudi origin benefit from the Gulf customs exemption when the certificate of origin proves it.
New appliances in their boxes ship with their invoice, and used ones are wrapped in reinforced cardboard and blankets. Fridges are unplugged the day before loading, washing-machine drums are locked in place, and screens travel standing up.
Moving for work or home between the Eastern Province and Bahrain
Many people moving between the Eastern Province and Bahrain are not moving a whole house but part of one: a room for a son studying in Manama, a small flat’s furniture for an employee whose job moved to Bahrain, or the things of a family that splits its time between Khobar and Muharraq. For these, a shared truck or a small dyna fits well, so you pay only for the space actually used.
For families moving completely, we suggest moving what you do not use daily first, such as guest-room furniture, books and seasonal clothes, then moving the bedrooms and kitchen on moving day itself. That way the old home is not left empty before the date, and the new one is not crowded with boxes on arrival.
Private or shared truck to Bahrain?
A private truck is reserved for your belongings alone, leaves on your day and unloads once at your door, the usual choice for villas and offices. A shared truck combines your things with other Bahrain-bound shipments, so you pay less, but its departure depends on the load filling and it stops at several addresses. In a shared truck each customer’s belongings are separated with boards, covers and name labels so nothing gets mixed up.
Sea freight for goods to Bahrain
Traders shipping large quantities can move goods in containers from King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam to Khalifa Bin Salman Port in Bahrain. This is rarely cheaper for individuals, because the causeway is shorter and faster, but it can suit heavy equipment, loads too large for trucks, or goods that will be stored in the logistics zone near the port. Container details are on our sea freight page.
Shipping dates and chilled products to Bahrain
Bahrain’s closeness to the Eastern Province makes shipping dates and food there relatively easy, but summer heat still matters even on a short trip. Packaged dates in personal quantities travel with ordinary belongings, commercial quantities need their health certificates and certificate of origin, and products that must stay cold move in a refrigerated truck that holds a steady temperature from loading to delivery. Refrigerated prices depend on quantity and date, so ask for the price by call or WhatsApp.
Required documents and customs in Bahrain
For personal shipping to Bahrain the paperwork is light: your ID or iqama, the recipient’s Bahraini CPR or passport, and an itemised list. Our clearing team drafts the declaration for both sides and follows it on the causeway.
- Household goods: sender ID, Bahrain recipient details, an item-by-item inventory.
- Vehicles: the istimara in original, an export certificate, cleared fines, owner ID.
- Offices and companies: a company letter, its commercial registration and a list of the assets being moved.
- Goods: commercial invoice, certificate of origin and packing list with weights.
Used furniture and personal effects of people moving to live in Bahrain are normally exempt from duty under the unified GCC customs law, while cars have their own procedures. New items or repeated quantities should be listed clearly, because they may be treated as goods.
Items you cannot ship to Bahrain
What cannot be shipped to Bahrain is much the same across the Gulf, and knowing it before packing saves you a stop on the causeway:
- Gas cylinders, fuel, paints, chemicals and pesticides.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and replicas.
- Unregistered medicines and supplements, or those without a health permit.
- Loose lithium batteries not fitted in devices.
- Perishable food, plants and soil.
- Tobacco in commercial quantities without declaration, and gold or cash without disclosure.
How do we protect your shipment to Bahrain?
Protection for us starts with how things are packed and ends with how they are unloaded. Heavy items are loaded first and close to the box wall, fragile ones sit in the middle away from the doors, and the load is held with straps and divider boards. The box is locked after loading and opened only for inspection on the causeway or at your door.
Insurance is available at whatever value you put on your goods; before loading you will know exactly what it covers and the window for reporting anything. When unloading in Bahrain, check valuable pieces first with the crew present and record any remark on the list before signing; that note is what is referred to later.
Common mistakes when shipping to Bahrain
- Relying on the short distance and leaving the papers late: the causeway is close, but no truck crosses without a complete declaration.
- Forgetting the building permit in Manama or Seef: the truck arrives in hours and then waits a full day.
- Mixing office items with household goods: each needs its own declaration, and mixing them confuses inspection.
- Shipping a car older than the limit: check the build year before booking.
- Leaving banned items in kitchen or bathroom boxes: pesticides and small gas canisters can stop the truck.
Where in Bahrain we deliver
Our trucks deliver across all four Bahraini governorates; the Northern Governorate is nearest the end of the causeway, then the Capital and Southern, then Muharraq to the north-east.

Residential towers in Manama, Seef and Juffair require a permit from building management and a service-lift booking, and gated compounds need entry permission for the truck. We arrange this with you before crossing so the truck can arrive and unload straight away.
Getting ready for unloading day in Bahrain
Unloading day goes quickly if you prepare three things: a place for the truck to park, an easy path from the truck to the door, and someone who knows where each piece goes. For villas we need space in front of the house or on a side street, for apartment buildings a lift booking and the guard’s permission, and for gated compounds the truck’s details and plate number registered at the security gate.
We suggest taping a sheet to each room door in the new home with its name exactly as written on the boxes: “Master bedroom”, “Children’s room”, “Office”. The crew then puts every carton in its room without asking, and assembly starts with the beds so your family can sleep in the new home on the first night, followed by wardrobes, the kitchen and the rest.
