Qatif, Saihat or Tarut? Where exactly is your home?
Qatif governorate is not one city but a chain of connected coastal towns: Saihat in the south close to Dammam, Qatif city itself, Tarut island linked to the mainland by a bridge, Al Awamiyah, Al Qudaih, Umm Al Hamam, Al Jish, and Safwa in the north. Distances from Dammam differ between them, and so do the streets.
So we ask for the town and district first. Saihat, for example, is noticeably closer to Dammam than Safwa; Tarut means crossing the bridge; and some old Qatif districts need a smaller vehicle. Knowing the destination precisely means a more accurate price and time.
How much does furniture moving from Dammam to Qatif cost?
Moving furniture from Dammam to Qatif starts from SAR 560 for a typical home, SAR 140 for a single item and SAR 150 for a dyna carrying limited items. Villa moves start from SAR 920, and the furniture lift from SAR 325.
Starting prices between Dammam and Qatif:
| Service | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Single item | A fridge, washer or sofa | 140 |
| Dyna for limited items | Several pieces and boxes | 150 |
| Home move | A typical flat with loading and unloading | 560 |
| Two-storey villa | Larger truck and bigger crew | 920 |
| Furniture lift | For upper floors | 325 |
| AC removal and installation | Technician recovers the gas | Ask us for the figure by phone |
On this short distance most of the cost is the work, not the road: how many pieces need dismantling, which floor you live on, and whether narrow streets mean more than one run. We quote after seeing photos of the rooms and knowing the district.
How long does a move from Dammam to Qatif take?
The road itself takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the town and traffic, and a full move for a medium flat takes 4 to 7 hours from the first screw to the last piece reassembled. We usually start in the morning, so you sleep in your new home that same night.
A rough comparison of destinations in the governorate:
| Destination | Road note | Arrival note |
|---|---|---|
| Saihat | Closest to Dammam | Mostly wide districts |
| Qatif city | Short coastal road | Some old districts are narrow |
| Tarut | Crossing the bridge to the island | Narrow lanes in old quarters |
| Safwa | Furthest north | Mix of new and old districts |
Vehicles that fit narrow lanes and old quarters
Qatif has long-established old quarters such as Al Qalaa and its surroundings, and Tarut has lanes large trucks cannot enter. For these we use a small closed dyna that reaches the door, or park the large truck on the nearest wide street and shuttle the furniture in a smaller vehicle.
Newer districts in Qatif, Saihat and Safwa have wider streets where a medium truck can stop outside. We ask about the street beforehand, and if you are unsure whether the truck can get in, send us a photo of the street or the home’s location.

Coastal humidity: how do we protect your furniture?
Qatif is coastal and surrounded by palm farms, with high humidity most of the year, like Dammam. Humidity does not harm furniture during a short drive, but it does if pieces are sealed damp in tight film and left for days; stains or a musty smell can appear on fabric and wood.
So we make sure items are dry before wrapping, use breathable bags for mattresses and sofas, and suggest removing covers on arrival day. In ground-floor homes near farms we recommend raising the legs of wooden furniture off damp floors on small blocks.
Moving just one or two items
Not every request is a full home. Many people need to move a fridge bought in Dammam, a sofa to a relative’s home in Qatif, or a washer to a new flat. For these we offer single-item moves from SAR 140 and a dyna for limited items from SAR 150.
If you have a short list, send it with photos and we will suggest the most economical option between a single-item move and a dyna, or our small moves service if it fits better.
Large family homes and majlis rooms
Many Qatif homes are spacious family houses with separate men’s and women’s majlis rooms, large rugs and sturdy old hardwood wardrobes. These are heavy and need more than two workers, and some old wardrobes do not dismantle easily because their screws have corroded over time, so we handle them carefully and carry them whole if necessary.
Rugs are shaken and rolled, never folded; floor seating and cushions go into large bags; ornaments and coffee pots are wrapped one by one. We ask beforehand about pieces of family value so we can give them a safe place in the vehicle.
Districts and towns we reach
We reach Qatif city and districts such as Al Qalaa, Al Shariah, Al Nasirah, Al Majidiyah, Al Bahari and Al Tubi, plus Saihat, Tarut island, Al Awamiyah, Al Qudaih, Umm Al Hamam, Al Jish and Safwa. We collect from every Dammam district, as well as Al Khobar and Dhahran.

Dismantling, assembly and air conditioners
Our carpenter dismantles beds and wardrobes, numbers the panels and reassembles them in Qatif the same day, so you sleep in your own bed on moving night. Appliances travel upright and strapped, and the washer drum is locked before loading.
Split units are handled by an AC technician who pumps the refrigerant down first, so nothing is lost on the way. Given how sticky Qatif nights can be, we book him to refit the bedroom unit before the crew leaves, if you ask.
Temporary storage and optional insurance
Homes in Qatif are often renovated before a family moves in. If yours is still with the painters or the landlord, the furniture can sit in our covered store until the work is done (see furniture storage). For heirlooms or costly electronics, an optional insurance policy is set up before loading, and its cost follows the declared value.
Moving to Tarut: what is different?
Tarut is an island joined to Qatif by a bridge, and small and medium vehicles reach it easily. The real difference is inside the island: its old quarters have houses wall to wall, lanes that take one car at a time, and some that no truck can enter at all.
So we plan Tarut moves around a small dyna from the start, or a medium truck waiting on the main road with a smaller vehicle running to the door. If your lane is narrow, let the neighbours know the moving time so the vehicle does not block their way for long.
Saihat and Safwa: the two ends of the governorate
Saihat is the Qatif town closest to Dammam; some of its districts almost run into Dammam’s northern ones, so the road is shorter and planning simpler, and its newer districts are wide enough for a medium truck to stop outside. We still ask for the district, as old central Saihat has narrower streets.
Safwa is the governorate’s northernmost town, a little further by road, with new districts on its edges and older ones in the centre. If you are heading to Safwa or beyond, we add the extra time to the schedule and start loading early so assembly finishes at a reasonable hour.
When should you book a move to Qatif?
Because the move is short it can often be arranged within a few days of calling, but booking early lets you choose the day and hour, especially at the end of the month when leases end and moves pile up. If your move is tied to handing over a flat, book a week ahead.
What should you prepare before the crew arrives?
A short list that saves hours on moving day:
| Prepare | When | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Empty wardrobes of clothes into boxes or suitcases | Two days before | Wardrobes come apart faster and lighter |
| Unplug and dry the fridge and washer | The night before | No water leaks onto other items |
| Put documents and gold in a personal bag | A day before | They stay with you, not lost among boxes |
| Decide where the vehicle will park outside | Morning of the move | Loading starts as soon as the crew arrives |
If the new home needs cleaning before the furniture goes in, do it the day before rather than on the day, because the crew will carry furniture straight in, and cleaning around arranged furniture is far harder.
