Which road does the truck take from Jazan to Al-Kharj?
The usual road for this trip runs east from Jazan to Najran, then north through Wadi Al-Dawasir, reaching Al-Kharj from the south. Its advantage is that Al-Kharj lies on it before Riyadh, so the truck does not need to enter the capital and come back.
The total distance is about 1,050 to 1,150 km, and after Najran the road crosses wide desert with few towns, so we make sure the truck is in good condition and the driver knows the fuel stations and rest stops. The driver may instead climb through the Asir highlands depending on load and weather; we tell you before departure.
Why do we stop in Najran?
Because it is roughly halfway. Driving from Jazan to Al-Kharj takes a loaded truck 12 to 14 hours, and with a loading day on top, a night in Najran is the option that protects the furniture and rests the driver, before continuing through Wadi Al-Dawasir to Al-Kharj in the morning.

Furniture from the coast to Najd: what changes?
Al-Kharj is in the heart of Najd, hot and dry in summer and cold at night in winter, the opposite of the humidity and warmth Jazan furniture is used to. Wood loses some moisture over the following weeks, so joints may loosen slightly or small gaps appear between boards.
So we tighten screws well during assembly in Al-Kharj and suggest checking them after two weeks. Leather benefits from a conditioner after a while, and wool rugs should be kept out of direct sun in their first days in the home.
