How far is Jeddah from Riyadh and how long does a furniture move take?
Jeddah and Riyadh are about 950 km apart by road, and a loaded moving truck covers that in roughly 11 to 13 hours of driving, so delivery is usually on the morning after loading. The highway runs past Makkah and then heads east through towns such as Al Muwayh and Al Quwayiyah before entering Riyadh from the west. It is a wide dual carriageway, but it is long and the daytime heat is high for most of the year.
That is why we do not treat the trip as a routine run. The driver takes mandatory rest stops, the truck is checked before leaving Jeddah (tyres, straps, door seals) and the load is strapped in stages so nothing shifts over hours of vibration. If the load is small and needed urgently, we can load at dawn and arrive the same night, agreed in advance, because the unloading time in Riyadh depends on the permitted truck entry hours.
How much does furniture moving from Jeddah to Riyadh cost?
Moving furniture from Jeddah to Riyadh starts from SAR 460 for a small load such as one bedroom or a few items, and from SAR 925 for a large home; the final price is set once we know the number of items, floors and whether there is a lift. The difference between two homes on the same route usually comes from three things: the truck size needed, the crew size and hours of dismantling and assembly, and whether either end needs a crane because the stairs are narrow or the lift is small.
These are starting prices for the Jeddah to Riyadh route; your exact quote follows a photo or on-site survey:
| Service | Details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Small load | One bedroom or a few items with basic wrapping | 460 |
| Medium load | Two-bedroom apartment with living room and small kitchen | 555 |
| Full apartment | Three-bedroom apartment with appliances | 650 |
| Large home | A villa floor or a house with several rooms and majlis | 925 |
| Crane lifting in Jeddah | For pieces that will not fit the stairs or lift | 140 |
| Extra packing | Boxes and bubble wrap for ornaments, glass and kitchenware | 140 |
| Short-term storage | In Jeddah before departure, per month | 140 |
There are no surprise charges on loading day: what we agree after the survey is what you pay, and if you add items that were not on the list we tell you how they affect the price before loading them. For local moves inside each city, see our moving company in Jeddah page.

🛠️ Assembly in Riyadh
We put beds, wardrobes and simple curtain rails back together and place every box in the room written on it.

Why is a closed truck essential on the Jeddah–Riyadh road?
Because the trip is long and exposed to sun and dust, and only a closed truck keeps furniture clean and dry all the way to Riyadh. An open dyna is fine for short runs inside a city, but over more than 900 km dust works its way into fabric and mattresses, and the heat of a metal deck can affect painted wood and faux leather.
We size the truck to your furniture, not to whatever is free: a two-bedroom flat fits a medium truck, while a large home may need a large truck or two. An oversized truck is no saving, because empty space lets pieces slide, so we fill gaps with mattresses and soft boxes and strap each row before starting the next.
How do we pack furniture for a long trip to Riyadh?
Each piece is packed according to its material rather than one method for everything, because what protects wood does not suit glass, and what protects fabric can trap moisture on leather. These are the main rules our crew follows on Jeddah–Riyadh moves:
- Fabric sofas get clean plastic wrap and then a blanket so they pick up no dirt from hands or the truck.
- Glass tops and mirrors get rigid board on both sides and travel standing, never flat.
- Fridges and washing machines are emptied and dried a day ahead, doors taped with residue-free tape, and moved upright.
- TVs go in their original boxes if available, otherwise in a box with foam corners.
- Plates and dishes are wrapped one by one in paper, stood on edge in the box and marked fragile.
💡 Tip before packing
Photograph the back of your TV, router and appliances before disconnecting them, and keep chargers and remotes in one bag with the device. Those few minutes save hours in Riyadh.
Can the truck enter Riyadh neighbourhoods at any time?
No. Riyadh regulates truck entry into the city at set times that vary by truck size and road, so we schedule your arrival within the permitted window and confirm the requirements on booking day. Unloading usually suits early morning or late afternoon, and if your district is a gated compound we need your name and unit number in advance to register the truck with security.
Some newer buildings in north Riyadh require a lift booking or a set time for moving in, so ask the building management a day before and let us know. If the street is too narrow for a large truck, we shuttle the furniture in two stages with a smaller vehicle from the nearest parking point.
Which Jeddah districts do we collect from and where in Riyadh do we deliver?
We collect from every district of Jeddah and deliver to every district of Riyadh; we just need both addresses to calculate the driving inside each city. In Jeddah we work daily in areas such as Al Hamdaniyah, Al Samer, Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Naeem, Al Rawdah, Al Zahra, Al Shati, North Obhur, Al Naseem, Al Ajwad and Al Rabwah. In Riyadh we deliver in the north to Al Malqa, Al Yasmin, Al Narjis, Al Arid, Al Sahafah and Hittin, in the centre and east to Al Olaya, Al Malaz, Al Rawdah, Al Naseem, Qurtubah and Al Yarmouk, and in the west and south to Al Suwaidi, Dhahrat Laban, Tuwaiq and Al Aziziyah.
If you settle in Riyadh and later need local moves, such as an extra room or items from a warehouse, our moving company in Riyadh page explains our services inside the capital.
What are the steps of moving furniture from Jeddah to Riyadh?
A Jeddah to Riyadh move follows six clear steps, from the survey to the last piece assembled in your new home:
- Survey: send photos of your rooms or we visit, and we set the item count, truck size and crew.
- Booking: we agree the loading day in Jeddah and the approximate arrival time in Riyadh.
- Dismantling and packing: the crew starts with the rooms farthest from the door and leaves the kitchen and appliances for last.
- Loading: heavy items low and at the front of the box, light and fragile items on top and at the back.
- The drive: the driver contacts you at departure and when approaching Riyadh.
- Unloading and assembly: every piece goes to its room and beds and wardrobes are assembled before we leave.
This table shows the usual timing on the Jeddah–Riyadh route for a three-bedroom apartment:
| Stage | What happens | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Dismantling and packing | Beds and wardrobes taken apart, appliances and boxes wrapped | 3 to 5 hours |
| Loading | Arranging and strapping the load inside the closed truck | 1 to 2 hours |
| The road | About 950 km including rest stops | 11 to 13 hours |
| Unloading | Carrying pieces into rooms by their labels | 1 to 2 hours |
| Assembly | Beds, wardrobes and tables put back together | 2 to 4 hours |

Is there insurance and storage if the Riyadh home is not ready?
Yes. We offer optional cover for the load, priced by the value of the furniture, and short-term storage in Jeddah from SAR 140 per month. Many people moving to Riyadh hand back their Jeddah flat before they receive their Riyadh keys, or wait for work on the new home to finish, and storage keeps your furniture wrapped and organised until you set the delivery date.
Insurance is not mandatory, but we recommend it for antiques, valuable pieces and new appliances. Full storage details are on our furniture storage page, and the move can start straight from the warehouse to Riyadh without you being there.
How do we move kitchens, bedrooms and air conditioners to Riyadh?
These are the three things people moving from Jeddah to Riyadh ask about most, and each is dismantled and moved differently. A wooden kitchen is taken apart unit by unit after the sink and water heater are disconnected, with upper and lower cabinets numbered so they go back in order, while a marble or granite worktop travels standing on its long edge between two boards because it cracks if carried flat. If the kitchen was made to fit a wall in Jeddah, measure the Riyadh wall before the move, as some units may need a small adjustment by a carpenter.
Bedrooms are fully dismantled: bed, side tables, dressing table and wardrobe, with mirrors wrapped separately. Mattresses go into sealed plastic bags against dust and ride at the top of the load so nothing presses on them. Window and split AC units are removed by an AC technician who closes the gas lines before the move and refits them in Riyadh once the wall opening and power are checked; at the survey we tell you the number of units and the fitting fee before moving day.
What raises the cost of moving to Riyadh and what lowers it?
Unsorted belongings, high floors without a lift and oversized pieces that need a crane raise the cost the most, while clearing what you do not need and packing boxes yourself lower it. The logic is simple: every item you will not use in Riyadh takes space in the truck and time from the crew.
- Sell or donate old furniture a week before the move; a smaller truck may then be enough.
- Pack books and clothes yourself and leave furniture and appliances to the crew.
- Tell us early if the lift is small; arranging a crane from the start costs less than calling one at the end of the day.
- Book early during busy moving periods such as the end of the school term, as trucks fill quickly.
⚠️ Important
Do not put gold, official documents or cash in the boxes. Carry them in your car or hand luggage; these are items that never travel with the furniture on any intercity move.

Tips for the week of your move from Jeddah to Riyadh
A smooth move starts at least a week before moving day, especially if you are moving with a family. Spread the tasks out so nothing piles up on the last night:
- Pack a “first day bag” with two days of clothes, medicines, chargers and basic kitchen items, and carry it in your car.
- Switch off and clean the fridge 24 hours ahead and drain the washing machine.
- Make sure electricity and water are connected at the Riyadh home before the truck arrives.
- Write the Riyadh room name on each box, not the Jeddah one.
- If you also have a car to move, ask us about moving it together with the furniture.
If you are only moving a few pieces, our small moves service may cost less than booking a whole truck.
Do you also move from Riyadh to Jeddah or to other cities?
Yes, we move in both directions and between most Saudi cities. If you return from Riyadh to Jeddah later, see furniture moving from Riyadh to Jeddah, and if you are heading from Jeddah to the Eastern Province, see furniture moving from Jeddah to Dammam. Moving abroad is a different service covered under international shipping.
