Ajman to Saudi Arabia shipping prices
Ajman to Saudi Arabia price guide: a parcel of up to 5 kg from SAR 47, shared-truck space from SAR 95 per cubic metre, a room or studio of furniture from SAR 950 and a saloon car from SAR 2,090. The total varies with the size of the apartment, the floor, the type of furniture and the Saudi city.
Ajman is the smallest emirate by area but one of the most densely populated, and most of its residents live in tower apartments. That changes the calculation compared with villas: the volume is usually medium, between 10 and 25 cubic metres per apartment, but the work in towers takes longer because of lifts, corridors and truck parking. A two-bedroom flat on the twentieth floor takes longer to load than a ground-floor villa of the same volume, which is why we ask about the floor and the lift before quoting.
The second kind of Ajman shipment is new furniture. Many people buy bedrooms, majlis sets and kitchens from Ajman’s showrooms and factories because the prices are good, and then want them shipped to their homes in the Kingdom. This is a different consignment for customs than used furniture, and we explain it in its own section below.
Starting prices in Ajman:
| Consignment | Details | Starts from (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Small parcel | 5 kg or less, consolidated by road | 47 |
| Goods by volume | in a shared truck, per cubic metre | 95 per m³ |
| Studio or one room | dismantled and packed at the flat, assembled in the Kingdom | 950 |
| Saloon car | open car carrier | 2,090 |
| SUV | open carrier with tie-down | 2,850 |
| Recent car | enclosed carrier | 4,250 |
| 20-foot container | by sea from UAE ports | 1,900 |
| Air parcel | via nearby Sharjah airport, per kg | 46 per kg |
| A full showroom order or factory consignment | by volume and invoices | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
Moving apartment furniture out of Ajman towers

Moving a flat out of an Ajman tower to Saudi Arabia means booking the service lift and getting tower management’s approval, then dismantling and packing inside the apartment and carrying everything to the truck, from SAR 950 for a room or studio.
The towers of Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Ajman Corniche and Emirates City hold thousands of apartments, and most require residents to notify management before moving furniture and to set a time for the service lift. We bring protection for lift walls and corridors, because scratches are charged to the resident at handover. Parking a truck outside the Al Nuaimiya towers in particular is hard during the day because of busy streets, so we prefer early morning or use a smaller vehicle to shuttle furniture from the tower to the big truck.
Apartment furniture is usually pressed wood, which takes being dismantled once or twice but weakens with repetition. So we use suitable tools, keep each piece’s screws in a numbered bag taped to it, and wrap panels in two layers so their edges do not chip. Sofas are covered in blankets and then tight stretch film, TVs go in dedicated cartons, and the kitchen in reinforced cartons with dividers.
If your tenancy ends before your home in the Kingdom is ready, we collect the furniture and keep it in the warehouse until you set a delivery date. Details on our furniture storage page.
Buying new furniture from Ajman showrooms and shipping it to the Kingdom
New furniture bought in Ajman ships to Saudi Arabia with its purchase invoice and is not covered by the used personal-effects exemption, so it pays the duty set for its tariff line plus 15% VAT, unless it was made in the UAE with 40% or more local value added and comes with a GCC certificate of origin.
In and around Al Jurf industrial area there are many furniture factories and showrooms, from bedrooms to Arabic majlis sets, kitchens and wooden doors. Here is a point many people miss: a local factory that genuinely makes the furniture in Ajman can issue a GCC certificate of origin, so its furniture enters the Kingdom without customs duty. A showroom selling furniture imported from Asia cannot give you that treatment, even though you bought it in Ajman. Ask the seller before paying: do you make this furniture yourselves, and do you issue a certificate of origin?
For shipping we need a clear invoice listing each piece, its specification and price, because a lump-sum invoice such as “assorted furniture” raises customs questions and delays release. If the quantity is large, such as a whole new villa or a shop’s furniture, it may be treated as commercial goods needing an importer with a CR. If it is for your own use, tell us so we can describe it accurately in the declaration.
On packing, new furniture usually leaves the factory partly wrapped, so we add protection to corners and glossy surfaces and stack it in the truck so that no heavy piece rests on a delicate surface.
Buying from several showrooms: how we consolidate your purchases
If you buy your furniture from several showrooms or factories in Ajman, we collect each order from where it is, gather everything in our warehouse, inspect and pack it, and send it all to the Kingdom as one consignment with a single list and a combined set of invoices.
This is a common scenario: a bedroom from a factory in Al Jurf, a majlis from another showroom and a dining table from a third, each seller giving a different delivery date. Shipping each order separately would mean paying for three consignments and three customs declarations. Consolidation turns them into one, and gives you an important opportunity: checking the furniture before it leaves the UAE.
Checking before shipping matters more than it seems. If you find a defect in a piece or a difference in colour or size, it is easy for the showroom to replace it while you are still in the UAE; after the border, a replacement means a whole new shipment. So we photograph each piece when we collect it from the showroom and send you the photos before final packing, so you can approve or ask for changes. Once all orders are in, we gather the invoices into one file for the clearing agent.
Moving electrical appliances from Ajman apartments
Electrical appliances from your Ajman flat ship to Saudi Arabia as used personal effects if they are for your own use, but they need preparing before loading day: draining water, securing moving parts and having air conditioners removed by a technician.
- Washing machine: drain it and leave it open to dry for a day or two, and lock the drum with transit bolts if you have them.
- Fridge: switch it off a day before loading, clean and dry it, and ship it upright rather than lying down.
- Split air conditioner: a technician removes it and pumps the gas down into the outdoor unit, and the pipes are wrapped.
- Television: in its original box if you still have it, or a dedicated carton with screen protection.
- Small appliances: packed in cartons with their cables and listed by name in the inventory.
Bear in mind that mains voltage in the Kingdom is close to what is used in the UAE, but plug types can differ from one home to another, so keep a few simple adaptors. New appliances in their boxes in more than personal quantities are treated as goods, as mentioned above.
What is duty-free and what pays duty?
Used furniture, household items and personal effects are exempt from Saudi customs duty under conditions, while new furniture, cars and goods pay their charges.
| Item | Customs treatment | Condition or note |
|---|---|---|
| Used furniture and appliances | exempt | personal use, from the country of residence, within 6 months of arrival |
| Clothes, books and personal items | exempt | in personal quantities |
| New imported furniture | tariff duty plus 15% VAT | with the purchase invoice |
| New UAE-made furniture | may be duty-exempt, 15% VAT applies | GCC certificate of origin and 40% value added |
| Car | 5% duty and 15% VAT | no older than 5 years |
The used-goods exemption is open to expatriates coming to reside in the Kingdom for the first time and to citizens returning after at least six months abroad. Expatriates are asked for proof of arrival to reside, such as a work visa or Saudi residence permit, along with a clear inventory of contents.
Ajman districts we collect from
We collect across Ajman, including its two inland exclaves, Masfout and Manama:
| Area | Districts | Housing type |
|---|---|---|
| Towers and corniche | Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, the Corniche, Al Khor Towers | high-rise apartments |
| Residential districts | Al Rawda, Al Hamidiya, Al Mowaihat, Al Yasmeen, Al Zahya, Al Helio | villas and houses |
| Newer communities | Emirates City, Al Zorah, Al Alia | modern flats and villas |
| Industrial and commercial | Al Jurf industrial, the free zone, Ajman Port | factories, showrooms and warehouses |
| Inland areas | Masfout, Manama | houses and farms |
Masfout and Manama belong to Ajman but lie far inland from the city, with Masfout close to the Hatta area. A truck collecting there does not necessarily go back through Ajman but heads for the truck routes south, so we give them a dedicated slot. Residential districts such as Al Rawda and Al Hamidiya mostly have ground-level homes, and loading there is quicker than in the towers.
The road from Ajman to Saudi Arabia and transit times
The road from Ajman to Saudi Arabia runs through Sharjah to Emirates Road or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, then south to Abu Dhabi and west through Al Dhafra to Ghuwaifat, roughly 490 km; after Al Batha consignments fan out across the Kingdom’s cities.
| From Ajman to | Approximate time | Distance after the border |
|---|---|---|
| Dammam and Khobar | 2 to 4 days | shortest, north of Al Batha |
| Al-Ahsa | 2 to 4 days | short, via Salwa |
| Riyadh | 3 to 5 days | medium |
| Qassim | 4 to 6 days | long, via Riyadh |
| Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah | 5 to 7 days | longest, across the Kingdom |
The formalities along the way are well known: a declaration prepared in advance for Abu Dhabi Customs with the transit permit before the truck reaches Ghuwaifat, then a Saudi declaration on Fasah and a truck slot at Al Batha, and an e-waybill for a non-Saudi truck. A foreign truck may not haul between Saudi cities, so if your goods are part of a shared truck for several destinations, they pass through the warehouse and reach you on a Saudi truck.
The difference in transit time between Ajman and Sharjah is negligible because they adjoin each other; the real difference comes from the type of shipment. New furniture with its invoices may need a little longer at clearance, while used furniture with an accurate inventory moves quickly.
What happens to furniture at inspection in Al Batha? The truck may pass through the X-ray scanner, and the customs officer may ask for some cartons to be opened at random and checked against the list. That is why we mark every carton with its inventory number and a short note of its contents, and seal it in a way that lets it be opened and closed again without tearing. When the list is accurate and the cartons are numbered, inspection takes minutes instead of hours, and your belongings are not opened and resealed again and again.
Shipping cars from Ajman to Saudi Arabia

Car shipping from Ajman to Saudi Arabia starts from SAR 2,090 on an open carrier and SAR 4,250 enclosed; an eligible car is one no more than five years past its build year, with the steering wheel on the left and a record clear of major damage.
Before shipping you cancel the car’s Ajman registration and obtain the export certificate and plates once any fines are settled, and bring the purchase invoice and your ID. We arrange the shipment certificate of conformity through SABER before the carrier moves, because Saudi customs will not release the car without it. At Al Batha the charges are collected: 5% of the assessed value, then 15% tax on the value plus duty.
Some customers ask whether the car can go in the same truck as the apartment furniture. Usually not: the car travels on a dedicated carrier and is cleared separately. But we can schedule both in the same week. Service details are on our car shipping page.
Goods from Ajman Free Zone and Ajman Port
Goods from Ajman Free Zone ship to Saudi Arabia by road as a full or part load, or by sea in containers, and need a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and a Saudi importer with a CR; a 20-foot container starts from SAR 1,900.
Ajman Free Zone adjoins the port and hosts small and medium trading and manufacturing firms. The same customs rule applies here: what is made in the UAE with enough value added and a GCC certificate of origin may be exempt from duty, and what was imported and re-exported pays the usual duty. Regulated products such as electrical appliances and cosmetics need SABER certificates or SFDA approvals before shipping.
Ajman Port is relatively small, and many containers leave via Sharjah’s Port Khalid or Jebel Ali depending on the shipping line. We choose whichever suits your destination in the Kingdom.
Air freight from Ajman to Saudi Arabia

Air freight from Ajman to Saudi Arabia goes through nearby Sharjah International or Dubai airport, from SAR 46 per kg, and reaches the recipient’s address in two to four days.
Ajman has no airport, but Sharjah airport is minutes away, which keeps air freight from Ajman quick. We pick the parcel up from your flat and deliver it in the Kingdom. The charge is on the greater of real and volumetric weight, volumetric being length × width × height in cm divided by 6,000. Air suits documents, small devices and urgent clothing, not furniture or large light cartons.
Documents and prohibited items when shipping from Ajman
The documents for shipping from Ajman to Saudi Arabia are the owner’s ID, a clear contents list and the customs declaration on Fasah, plus what each type requires.

- New furniture: a detailed purchase invoice, plus a certificate of origin if it was made in the UAE.
- Car: export certificate and plates, invoice, ID, SABER certificate.

Alcoholic drinks, pork products, narcotics and gambling devices are not allowed in, nor are weapons, ammunition and explosives without a licence. Saudi cities where we deliver Ajman shipments

We deliver Ajman consignments in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Al-Ahsa, Makkah, Madinah, Qassim, Taif, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Tabuk, Jazan, Hail and other cities.
On delivery we assemble the furniture in the rooms you choose, whether it is used furniture from your flat or new from the showroom. With new furniture we unwrap it in front of you so you can check it, and we clear away the cartons and film after assembly. If you are moving into a tower apartment in the Kingdom, tell us the floor and whether there is a lift so we can bring the right crew.
More than half of the Ajman consignments we move are bound for Riyadh and the Eastern Province, where many employees relocate to work for companies and new headquarters. In Riyadh specifically we deliver in northern districts such as Al Narjis, Al Malqa and Al Qairawan, and eastern districts such as Al Naseem and Al Rawdah. In the Eastern Province most deliveries are in Dammam, Khobar and Dhahran. We message you when the truck leaves Ajman, again when it clears Al Batha and a third time a few hours before it reaches you, so you are ready to receive your furniture without waiting.
