Shipping Company from Dubai to Saudi Arabia

Saudi Express is a shipping company from Dubai to Saudi Arabia that moves apartment and villa furniture, cars and commercial cargo from any Dubai district to any city in the Kingdom. The truck leaves Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road towards Ghuwaifat, enters the Kingdom at Al Batha, and reaches the Eastern Province in 2 to 4 days, Riyadh in 3 to 5 days and Jeddah in 5 to 7 days. We handle the building move-out permit, packing and the customs declaration; a small parcel starts from SAR 47 and furniture moving from SAR 950. Call or WhatsApp 0560533140.

How much does shipping from Dubai to Saudi Arabia cost?

Shipping from Dubai to Saudi Arabia starts from SAR 47 for a parcel up to 5 kg, SAR 950 for a studio or one room of furniture, SAR 2,090 for a sedan and SAR 1,900 for a 20-foot container from Jebel Ali Port. The price moves up or down with the size of the load and the Saudi city where you receive it.

Most of our Dubai customers live in apartments, and an apartment is priced differently from a villa. A one-bedroom flat in Al Barsha or Jumeirah Village Circle may need 10 to 15 cubic metres, which is part of a shared truck, while a four-bedroom villa in Arabian Ranches or Mirdif usually needs a full truck. So we do not quote one price for everyone; we ask for photos of each room, calculate the volume, then suggest a shared or dedicated truck, whichever works out cheaper for you.

Inside Dubai itself the price is also shaped by the floor and whether there is a service lift, the distance between your door and where the truck can park, and whether the home has heavy pieces that need extra crew, such as steel safes or gym equipment. These are small details, but they make the difference between a smooth loading day and a long one.

Which Dubai districts do we collect from?

We collect across Dubai, from the coastal towers to the inland communities and industrial zones. Most requests come from districts with many families and expatriate residents:

🏙️ New coastline
Dubai Marina, JLT, Palm Jumeirah, Al Sufouh, Jumeirah
🏢 City centre
Business Bay, Downtown, Al Barsha, Karama, Bur Dubai
🏘️ Family districts
Mirdif, Al Warqa, Al Mizhar, Al Qusais, Al Nahda, Al Twar
🌴 Inland communities
JVC, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Silicon Oasis, International City, Nad Al Sheba
📦 Commercial and industrial
Deira, Al Quoz, Ras Al Khor, Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai South

Each of these areas has its own character on loading day. In Dubai Marina and Business Bay the towers are tall and service lifts are booked by time slot, so we arrive exactly on schedule. In Mirdif and Al Warqa the villas have wide driveways that let the truck park at the door. Deira and Al Qusais have busy streets during the day, so we prefer to load early in the morning.

The building move-out permit before moving furniture out of Dubai

Most towers and communities in Dubai require a move-out permit from building management or the developer before furniture leaves, along with a booked service-lift slot, and some ask for a refundable deposit returned once corridors and lifts are checked.

It looks like a simple admin step, yet it is a frequent cause of a delayed loading day. The crew and truck arrive, and then security refuses to let the furniture out because the permit has not been issued. That is why we remind you a week ahead: contact building management, ask for the move form, attach your tenancy contract and any proof of paid service charges they request, and book the lift for at least half a day.

If you are a tenant, check the move-out conditions with your landlord: the key handover date, the condition inspection and closing the electricity and water account. Aligning the handover date with the truck date saves you paying extra rent or storing furniture for no reason.

💡 Tip: Book the service lift from the morning. Loading a two-bedroom apartment usually takes 3 to 5 hours between dismantling, packing and carrying everything to the truck.

The road route from Dubai to Saudi Arabia

The road from Dubai to Saudi Arabia starts south on Sheikh Zayed Road past Jebel Ali, enters Abu Dhabi emirate and heads west through Al Dhafra to Ghuwaifat, a distance of about 460 km. After the border the truck enters the Kingdom at Al Batha and heads to your city.

A truck leaving Dubai in the morning normally reaches the border in the afternoon and, if its paperwork is ready, crosses the same day or that night. Transport operators in Dubai also plan around the rush-hour truck bans on certain roads, so we time the departure to avoid them and keep the truck from idling in the city for hours.

At Ghuwaifat the UAE exit formalities are completed, with the declaration and transit permit already prepared in advance, then the truck is inspected at Al Batha and the declaration lodged on Fasah is matched against the load. A UAE-registered truck needs an electronic transport document from the Transport General Authority and may not carry loads between Saudi cities, so if your goods are part of a shared load for several cities, we complete distribution inside the Kingdom on Saudi trucks.

How long does a Dubai shipment take to reach Saudi cities?

A shipment from Dubai reaches Dammam and Khobar in 2 to 4 days, Riyadh in 3 to 5 days, Qassim in 4 to 6 days and Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah in 5 to 7 days, with an extra day or two for shared loads.

From Dubai toDedicated truckShared truck
Dammam, Khobar, Jubail2 to 3 days3 to 5 days
Al-Ahsa2 to 3 days3 to 5 days
Riyadh3 to 4 days4 to 6 days
Qassim and Hail4 to 5 days5 to 7 days
Jeddah, Makkah, Taif5 to 6 days6 to 8 days
Madinah and Yanbu5 to 6 days6 to 8 days
Abha, Jazan, Tabuk6 to 7 days7 to 9 days

The gap between the two columns comes from consolidation. A dedicated truck moves as soon as your home is loaded and takes the shortest road to your city. A shared truck waits until its load from several customers is complete, then drops consignments city by city. If you have a fixed start date at work in the Kingdom, a dedicated truck is easier; if your timing is flexible, the shared option costs less.

Shipping cargo from Dubai and Jebel Ali Free Zone

Cargo from Dubai to Saudi Arabia travels by road as a full trailer or part load, or by sea in containers from Jebel Ali Port, and the Saudi importer needs a commercial registration, a Fasah declaration and SABER certificates for regulated products.

Dubai is a re-export hub, and much of what leaves it was not made there. That matters at Saudi customs: goods made in China or India and stored in Jebel Ali Free Zone do not receive the GCC national-product exemption and pay the usual customs duty plus VAT. The exemption applies to goods manufactured in the UAE with at least 40% local value added and a GCC certificate of origin.

From the free zone we need a zone exit declaration before the goods move to the border, plus a commercial invoice and packing list stating weights and quantities. Food and cosmetics carry SFDA requirements, and perfume in commercial quantities is treated as flammable cargo in transport. We go through these details with you before loading because fixing them at the border is far harder.

For online stores that hold stock in Dubai and sell in the Kingdom, we arrange regular consolidated shipments so goods reach your warehouse in Riyadh or Dammam in steady batches instead of shipping each order on its own.

Sea freight from Jebel Ali to Dammam and Jeddah

Sea freight from Dubai to Saudi Arabia sails from Jebel Ali, the largest port in the region, either to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam on a short two-to-three-day passage or to Jeddah Islamic Port on a longer voyage around the Arabian Peninsula, and a 20-foot container starts from SAR 1,900.

Who chooses the sea from Dubai? Usually a trader filling an entire container, an owner of heavy equipment that an ordinary truck cannot take, or someone sending a large load to Jeddah without the truck crossing the Kingdom from east to west. In those cases a container is gentler on the cargo and clearer on cost. But the sea brings formalities at both ends: booking, stuffing and sealing the container in Dubai, then discharge and clearance at the Saudi port, then the road leg from the port to the warehouse.

For a single apartment we rarely recommend the sea, because a road truck reaches Riyadh before the container formalities at the port are finished. When villa contents are very large and bound for Jeddah, we compare both routes for you in figures and you choose what fits your date and budget.

Air freight from Dubai airports to Saudi Arabia

Air Freight from Dubai to Saudi Arabia
An air consignment from Dubai airports on its way to the Kingdom

Air freight from Dubai to Saudi Arabia leaves from Dubai International or Al Maktoum International, starts from SAR 46 per kg and arrives in 2 to 4 days door to door. It is the right choice for urgent parcels, documents and light items.

There are many daily flights from Dubai to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, which keeps Dubai air cargo fast. The rate is charged on volumetric weight when it exceeds the actual weight: length × width × height in cm ÷ 6,000. A 70×50×30 cm suitcase has a volumetric weight of 17.5 kg; if it is heavier than that, its real weight is charged.

When should you choose air from Dubai? When you need papers or work equipment within days of arriving, or when you are sending trade samples or urgent spare parts that cannot wait for a truck. Furniture and large appliances are far cheaper by road. Remember that perfumes and loose batteries face airline restrictions, so mention them before packing.

Shipping cars from Dubai to Saudi Arabia

Car Shipping from Dubai to Saudi Arabia
A covered, secured car before leaving Dubai for the Kingdom

Shipping a car from Dubai to Saudi Arabia starts from SAR 2,090 on a carrier and SAR 4,250 on an enclosed carrier. The car must be five years old or newer from its manufacturing year, not counting the current year, left-hand drive and compliant with GCC specifications.

Dubai’s car market is large and includes American and Japanese imports built to different specifications. Before buying a car in Dubai to take to the Kingdom, ask about its specification and accident history: cars with major accident, flood or fire damage are banned, and a car that does not meet the approved specifications will not get a SABER certificate of conformity.

In Dubai the process starts by cancelling the registration with the RTA and obtaining an export certificate and export plates, after any traffic fines are paid. We then load the car on the carrier and handle its papers through to Al Batha, where customs duty of 5% of its value and 15% VAT are calculated, and we deliver it in your city so you can complete registration, the periodic inspection and Saudi plates.

None of this applies if you want to drive your UAE car into the Kingdom as a visitor and return with it; that is a temporary entry with the car’s papers and valid insurance in the Kingdom, not an import. Details are on our car shipping page.

Moving furniture from Dubai: packing and the customs exemption

Packing Furniture for Shipping from Dubai to Saudi Arabia
Packing a Dubai apartment for shipping to the Kingdom

Moving furniture from Dubai to Saudi Arabia covers dismantling, packing, inventory and loading, then reassembly in your new home, and used furniture enters the Kingdom free of customs duty if it is for personal use and arrives within six months of your arrival to reside.

The exemption covers expatriates coming to live in the Kingdom for the first time and Saudi citizens returning after at least six months abroad, and many of our Dubai customers fall into one of these groups: employees whose jobs moved to Riyadh, and Saudi families finishing years of work in the UAE. You need your passport, a Saudi residence permit or work visa for expatriates, proof of UAE residence for citizens, and a clear inventory. The car is not included in the exemption.

We take particular care with modern apartment furniture, much of which is pressed wood that weakens with repeated dismantling, so we use the right tools and keep screws in numbered bags taped to each piece. Sofas are wrapped in blankets then stretch film, glass table tops go into cardboard frames and TVs into cartons sized for them. The inventory is written in Arabic and English because it is attached to the declaration.

If your home in the Kingdom is not ready yet, we can store your furniture in a warehouse until you get the keys. See our furniture storage page.

Insuring your shipment from Dubai

Cargo insurance from Dubai to Saudi Arabia is an option that covers the declared value of your goods against road risks such as accidents and damage in transit, and it is priced as a percentage of the value you write on the inventory.

We recommend it especially for anyone shipping expensive electronics, high-end furniture or a recent car. The process is simple: you note an approximate value for each group of items, or one total for the consignment, and we issue the policy before the truck leaves. To keep any claim straightforward, photograph appliances and valuable pieces before packing and keep their receipts if you have them.

Insurance and careful packing are not the same thing. Good packing prevents most damage in the first place, and insurance covers what cannot be prevented. So we never skip one because of the other: every piece is packed to suit it, and the insurance decision is yours, based on what your belongings are worth.

Documents and prohibited items when shipping from Dubai

The basic documents for shipping from Dubai to Saudi Arabia are your passport, residence permit and contents list, with extras for each type: the export certificate for a car, the commercial invoice and certificate of origin for goods, and proof of arrival to reside for the furniture exemption.

  • Banned outright: alcohol, pork, narcotics, gambling equipment, fireworks and weapons without a permit.
  • Permit needed: drones, wireless transmitters, pets, plants and seeds.
  • Personal quantities only: prescription medicines and dietary supplements.
  • Flag in advance: large amounts of perfume, loose batteries and pressurised aerosols.

Some things are not banned but are often asked about, such as books, used electronics and electric kitchen appliances. These ship as personal effects as long as they are in personal-use quantities; what matters is that they are listed by name in the inventory.

Tips for moving from Dubai to Saudi Arabia

The most important tip for anyone leaving Dubai is to start with the paperwork before the furniture: cancelling or transferring your residence, closing accounts and contracts and paying fines, because some of these obligations hold up the car export certificate or delay the apartment handover.

  • Start organising at least three weeks before the move, especially for a villa or a large apartment.
  • Get rid of what you will not need in the Kingdom; old appliances and worn furniture add volume and cost for no benefit.
  • Separate what will fly with you from what goes on the truck, and mark it clearly.
  • If you have plants or a pet, ask early about the entry conditions because they need permits.
  • Keep a copy of the inventory with you to check against on delivery day.

If you are comparing Dubai with other emirates, the price difference between Dubai and Abu Dhabi or Sharjah is small because the road to the border is nearly the same; the real difference comes from volume and the Saudi city. General route details are on our UAE to Saudi Arabia shipping guide and the UAE to Saudi service page.
