Shipping prices from Jeddah to Morocco
Saudi Express prices from Jeddah to Morocco start at SAR 140 for a parcel up to 5 kg, SAR 370 for clothes and personal items, SAR 1,670 for living-room furniture, SAR 1,860 for a bedroom and SAR 7,440 for a full 20 ft container of your own. Your figure depends on volume, the arrival port and the Moroccan city of delivery.
Jeddah and Morocco are far apart, so price follows cubic metres more than anything else. If you are sending a few suitcases and cartons, space in a shared container is enough; if you are returning for good with a whole home, a private container is cheaper per metre and safer, as it stays sealed to the Moroccan port. We help you compare by sending both prices in writing once we know your volume.
Starting prices on the Jeddah–Morocco route:
| Service | Details | Starts from (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Small parcel | Up to 5 kg of papers or gifts | 140 |
| Clothes and personal items | Suitcases and clothing cartons in a shared container | 370 |
| Kitchenware | Utensils and small appliances wrapped piece by piece | 560 |
| Television | In a padded case for the voyage | 650 |
| AC or small appliance | Wrapped and secured in the container | 740 |
| Office furniture | Desks, chairs and cabinets | 1,395 |
| Living-room furniture | Sofas, tables and majlis | 1,670 |
| Complete bedroom | Bed, wardrobe and dresser | 1,860 |
| 20 ft container | Yours alone from Jeddah port to the Moroccan port | 7,440 |
| 40 ft container | For a large home or furniture with a car | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
| Car shipping | Depending on age and entry system | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
The biggest money decision in a Morocco move is what to take and what to leave. Large cheap furniture that is easy to buy in Casablanca or Fez is not worth crossing the sea; good furniture, modern appliances, rugs, books and family keepsakes are. The smaller the volume, the smaller the bill.
How long does shipping from Jeddah to Morocco take?
Sea shipping from Jeddah to Morocco takes 4 to 6 weeks door to door for a private container; a shared one may take a week longer because it waits to fill; air takes 3 to 5 days. The time covers loading in Jeddah, waiting for the vessel, sailing, any transshipment at a Mediterranean port, clearance in Morocco and delivery.
Some sites quote very short times for this route, but a container from Jeddah crosses the Red Sea, the Suez Canal and almost the entire Mediterranean, and many lines unload it at an intermediate port before another vessel takes it to Morocco. So we give you a realistic time and confirm the actual sailing date after booking.
| Moroccan city | Suitable arrival port | Approximate time from Jeddah |
|---|---|---|
| Casablanca, Mohammedia, El Jadida | Casablanca | 4 – 5 weeks |
| Rabat, Salé, Kenitra | Casablanca | 4 – 6 weeks |
| Tangier, Tetouan, Larache | Tanger Med | 4 – 5 weeks |
| Fez and Meknes | Casablanca or Tanger Med | 5 – 6 weeks |
| Marrakesh and Agadir | Casablanca | 5 – 6 weeks |
| Oujda and Nador | Tanger Med | 5 – 6 weeks |
How does the container travel from Jeddah to Casablanca and Tangier?
The container leaves Jeddah Islamic Port, heads north up the Red Sea to the Suez Canal, then crosses the Mediterranean westwards to Tanger Med in northern Morocco or continues to Casablanca on the Atlantic. Many containers pass through a Mediterranean transshipment port where they move from a large vessel to another serving Morocco.
There is no practical land route for furniture from Jeddah to Morocco, since it would cross several countries with different procedures. So the sea remains the route for household goods and cars, and air for small parcels. We choose the arrival port by city: Tanger Med for the north and east, Casablanca for the centre and south.
⚓ Casablanca
Morocco’s largest commercial port, serving the centre and south: Rabat, Marrakesh, Agadir.
⚓ Tanger Med
A huge port on the Strait of Gibraltar, close to Tangier, Tetouan, Oujda and Nador.
🔁 Transshipment
Moving the container between ships at an intermediate port can add days.
🧾 Bill of lading
Issued to the recipient in Morocco and used to clear at the port.
Shared and private containers to Morocco
If your belongings are under about 20 cubic metres a shared container is cheaper; if they approach 25 or more, a private 20 ft container, holding around 33 cubic metres, is the right size. A 40 ft container is for large homes or for shipping furniture and a car together.
A shared container gathers several families’ goods for Morocco and each pays for its volume, but it does not sail until full, so your goods may wait a week or more in the Jeddah warehouse. With a private container you choose the loading day, it is loaded at your door and sealed, and nobody touches your goods until inspection at the Moroccan port.
💡 Measure before you decide
A complete bedroom takes roughly 6 to 9 cubic metres, a living room 5 to 8, and a kitchen with appliances 3 to 5. Add up your rooms with these figures to see whether shared space is enough or you need a private container.
Air freight from Jeddah to Morocco
Air freight from Jeddah to Morocco arrives in 3 to 5 days from King Abdulaziz International Airport to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, and on to other cities. It suits documents, prescribed personal medicines, clothes you need before the container arrives, small gifts and light electronics.
The air price is based on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is more. We find the volumetric figure by multiplying length, width and height in cm and dividing by 6,000. A 45 × 45 × 40 cm carton comes to 13.5 kg, so if it holds 6 kg of light abayas you pay for 13.5. Fill air parcels with small heavy items and leave bulky light things for the container.

Car shipping from Jeddah to Morocco
Cars are shipped from Jeddah to Morocco by sea inside a container, alone or with furniture, because a container protects the car over the long voyage and any transshipment. Morocco distinguishes between temporary admission of a foreign-plated car and permanent import to register it in Morocco, each with its own conditions.

Permanent import of used cars into Morocco is usually limited to cars under five years old and carries customs duty and VAT that can be high. Moroccans living abroad use temporary admission for their car, which Moroccan customs allows for up to 180 days a year under its conditions. So we ask about your aim before shipping and check the model year and papers with the customs agent in Morocco.
⚠️ Work out the charges first
Do not ship a car close to or over five years old to register it in Morocco before knowing whether it will be accepted and what it will cost, as the calculation happens on arrival, not at loading.
How we load cars into containers is explained on car shipping.
Packing luggage and furniture for the long trip to Morocco
A container from Jeddah to Morocco travels for weeks through different climates, from Red Sea heat to Mediterranean and Atlantic humidity, and may change ships. So we pack furniture to full sea standard: heavy film against the wood, then blankets, then card corners, with moisture absorbers inside the container.

A carpenter dismantles beds, wardrobes and tables, with screws in numbered bags taped to each piece. Kitchenware and glass are wrapped piece by piece in small full cartons, books go into small cartons so they stay light, and rugs are rolled and covered in film. Appliances are dried two days before loading. The inventory is written in Arabic and French or English, as Moroccan customs ask for it.
📚 Books
Small cartons under about 20 kg so they do not burst during handling.
🧶 Rugs
Cleaned, rolled and covered in sealed film against damp and insects.
🍽️ Dishes
Each piece wrapped in paper, plates stood on edge, not flat.
🛏️ Mattresses
Fully sealed bags, placed on top of heavy items, never beneath.
A final return needs early planning
Call us at least a month before you travel and we will arrange packing, the container and export papers so your goods reach Morocco close to your own arrival.
Call 0560533140 WhatsAppAppliances, rugs and family keepsakes
People returning to Morocco usually care about three kinds of belongings: modern appliances such as fridges, washers and cookers, good rugs bought in Saudi Arabia, and family keepsakes like photos, books and gifts. Appliances are dried two days ahead, foam-wrapped and loaded upright; rugs are cleaned, rolled and sealed in film against damp and moths; keepsakes go into small padded cartons labelled with their owners’ names.
Every appliance you ship must appear on the inventory by type, and new ones in original boxes are treated differently from used ones. If you bought a device days before travelling, unbox and use it or tell us so it is listed clearly and does not raise questions at customs.
Moroccan customs facilities on final return
Moroccans living abroad who change residence and return to Morocco for good benefit from a customs exemption on luggage and used household furniture, within a ceiling and conditions set by the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration. What is usually requested: proof of residence in Saudi Arabia and its length, a change-of-residence certificate from the Moroccan consulate, and a detailed inventory.
The exemption covers the family’s used belongings, not commercial quantities or new boxed appliances. We write the list so it clearly shows household, used items and separate anything new. If you are not returning for good, your goods follow the normal rules and we explain what to expect.
What you pay at the Moroccan port
The Saudi Express offer covers transport, packing, sea freight and the services listed in it; Moroccan charges depend on your status and the type of goods. Someone returning for good who meets the exemption conditions usually pays nothing on used furniture within the allowed ceiling, while anything above it, new or commercial attracts customs duty and VAT, generally 20% in Morocco.
The port charges handling and storage, and the customs agent who files the declaration has a fee. Late paperwork after the container arrives means extra storage days, so we remind you about the change-of-residence certificate and power of attorney before sailing and send an estimate of what to expect on arrival.
Commercial goods from Jeddah to Morocco
Traders ship dates, perfume and incense, clothing and abayas, personal care products and household goods from Jeddah to Morocco, and we provide a full container or groupage depending on quantity. They need a detailed commercial invoice, certificate of origin, packing list and the Moroccan importer’s details and registration.
Some food and cosmetic products need registration or prior approval from the relevant Moroccan authorities, and a valid certificate of origin may reduce duties under Arab trade agreements. We review the papers before loading so goods do not wait in Casablanca or Tanger Med over a missing document.
Documents needed to ship from Jeddah to Morocco
- Copy of passport and iqama or Saudi ID.
- Moroccan national ID card of the recipient or owner.
- Change-of-residence certificate from the consulate for the final-return exemption.
- A detailed numbered inventory, ideally in Arabic and French.
- A Fasah e-mandate so our Saudi broker can close the export file at Jeddah.
- The sea waybill made out to whoever receives in Morocco.
- For a vehicle: its original card, export documents and the papers the chosen entry regime asks for.
If a relative rather than you will collect the container in Morocco, give them a notarised power of attorney, as clearance requires the owner or an official representative.
Prohibited items when shipping to Morocco
Flammables, gas cylinders, weapons, perishable food and plants cannot travel with furniture to Morocco; drones and two-way radios need a prior licence, and large quantities of medicines and electronics are restricted.
🔥 Hazardous
Fuel, paint, solvents, sprays, gas cylinders even when empty.
🚁 Drones
Drones are restricted in Morocco and need a licence before entry.
🥩 Food
Meat, dairy and perishables are not shipped; sealed dates in household amounts are fine.
💰 Valuables
Cash, jewellery and original documents travel with you on the plane.
Students’ suitcases and workers’ cartons
If you are a graduating student or a worker heading back after years, with suitcases and cartons of books, clothes and gifts for family rather than a whole home, groupage suits you, with small parcels from SAR 140 and clothes and personal items from SAR 370, and you can drop your belongings at our Jeddah warehouse yourself.
Write your name and Moroccan phone number on every bag and carton, put a sheet with the same details inside, and seal with strong tape. Avoid large perfumes and liquids among clothes; they leak most and spoil belongings on a long voyage.
From berth to your door in Morocco
When the container reaches Casablanca or Tanger Med the shipping agent announces its arrival, and the customs agent lodges the entry together with the waybill, the list and change-of-residence certificate if any. Customs then inspect the container, match goods with the list, decide what falls under the exemption and what is charged, and issue the release.
These steps usually take a few working days if papers are complete and the owner or their agent is present. The goods then go by truck to your city, and we call before arrival to agree on unloading time and where the truck can stop near your home.

Mistakes that hold a container in Casablanca and Tangier
📄 Missing certificate
A container arriving before the change-of-residence certificate is issued blocks the exemption and prolongs storage.
🌐 Arabic-only list
An Arabic and French inventory shortens declaration time with the agent and customs.
🆕 Undeclared new items
New appliances hidden among used furniture take the load out of the exemption.
✍️ No power of attorney
If you are not there and your relative has no notarised power of attorney, the container waits for you.
If the container arrives before your home in Morocco is ready, it can be cleared and stored briefly and delivered on the date you set, or we can postpone loading in Jeddah and keep your goods packed in our warehouse until your date approaches.

Tips before shipping your belongings to Morocco
Morocco uses 220 volts with round European sockets, so bring simple plug adapters. Winters in Fez, Meknes and Ifrane are cold, so pack heavy blankets in separate, easy-to-reach cartons. Remember the container may arrive weeks after you, so carry or fly what you need for the first month.
Photograph appliances and valuables before packing and note an approximate value on the list if you want marine insurance. If several family members share one container, give each person a colour or symbol on their cartons to make sorting easy on arrival.
