Shipping prices from Jeddah to Turkey
Shipping from Jeddah to Turkey begins at SAR 93 per carton, SAR 465 for a large TV, SAR 600 for a split AC, SAR 740 for a fridge or washer, SAR 1,480 for a large wardrobe, SAR 3,150 for a complete bedroom and SAR 8,750 for a two-bedroom flat. The real cost of your shipment comes down to its volume, the Turkish province it goes to, and whether you choose a shared or private container.
On sea freight to Turkey everything is measured in cubic metres. In a shared container you pay only for your volume, the most economical choice for a room or two or a set of cartons. A private 20 ft container, holding about 33 cubic metres, makes sense once your home approaches that size, because it is loaded at your door, sealed and opened only in Turkey.
Starting prices for the most requested items on this route:
| Service | Details | Starts from (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Carton | In a shared container to Turkey | 93 |
| 65-inch TV | Padded case built for the sea voyage | 465 |
| Split AC | Technician removal of both units, pipes sealed | 600 |
| Fridge or washer | Fully dried and double-wrapped against humidity | 740 |
| Four-door wardrobe | Dismantled, numbered, panels wrapped | 1,480 |
| Complete bedroom | From dismantling in Jeddah to assembly in Turkey | 3,150 |
| Two-bedroom flat | About 16 to 24 cubic metres | 8,750 |
| Private 20 or 40 ft container | Whole home, villa or goods | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
| Your car | Sealed box or RoRo deck to Mersin | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
| Air freight | Documents, gifts, light electronics | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
What raises the bill: delivery to a province far from the port, high floors in older buildings without lifts, and heavy pieces needing wooden crates. What lowers it: a port close to your city, shared containers for small volumes, and leaving cheap furniture that is easy to replace in Turkey, where furniture markets are large and reasonably priced.
How long does a shipment from Jeddah to Turkey take?
A sea shipment from Jeddah to Turkey takes 15 to 25 days to Mersin, Iskenderun and the surrounding area, and 20 to 30 days to Istanbul, Ankara and Bursa, including loading in Jeddah, sailing, clearance and delivery; air freight takes 2 to 4 days. The sailing itself is short: liner services linking Jeddah with Mersin and Iskenderun list roughly 5 to 8 days port to port.
Most of the time goes into the steps around the voyage: waiting for the vessel, filling a shared container, clearing Turkish customs and inland transport from the port to your province. That is why a private container usually arrives sooner than a shared one.
| Destination in Turkey | Usual arrival port | Approximate time from Jeddah |
|---|---|---|
| Mersin, Adana, Hatay | Mersin or Iskenderun | 15 – 22 days |
| Gaziantep and Konya | Mersin, then road | 17 – 25 days |
| Antalya | Mersin or Antalya port | 18 – 26 days |
| Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Yalova | Istanbul ports or Mersin, then road | 20 – 30 days |
| Ankara | Mersin, then road | 20 – 28 days |
| Trabzon and Samsun | Istanbul then road, or Black Sea ports | 24 – 32 days |
Why is shipping from Jeddah to Turkey done by sea?
Shipping from Jeddah to Turkey is mainly by sea because the sea is the shortest practical and most economical route for furniture and cars, and because the land route passes through Jordan and Syria, where transit procedures and load transfers at the Syrian border make the road longer and more complicated for household goods. The sea carries the container sealed from Jeddah to the Turkish port with no transfers.
Jeddah Islamic Port is on the Red Sea, and ships for Turkey pass the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean, reaching southern Turkish ports first and Istanbul and Izmir on longer rotations. So we choose the arrival port by province: Mersin and Iskenderun for the south and centre, Istanbul for Marmara and the north-west.
⚓ Mersin
The largest southern port, serving Mersin, Adana, Gaziantep, Ankara and Konya.
⚓ Iskenderun
In Hatay, close to the southern border and south-eastern cities.
⚓ Istanbul ports
For Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Yalova and Sakarya.
⚓ Izmir
For Aegean cities and the surrounding region.
Shared or private container to Turkey?
Choose a shared container if your goods are under roughly 15 cubic metres and you are not in a rush; choose a private one for a whole home or anything larger, or if you have valuable pieces you do not want unloaded and reloaded in warehouses. Shared is cheaper; private is faster and safer for delicate furniture.
With shared shipping your goods are wrapped at home, taken to our Jeddah warehouse, labelled with your name and shipment number and stowed with other loads for Turkey. On arrival the container is unloaded at a distribution warehouse, each shipment cleared in its owner’s name and delivered. With a private container the container is filled outside your home, sealed, and stays shut until Turkish customs inspect it.
💡 A 40 ft container if you have a car
If you are shipping your home and car together, a 40 ft container may fit both and save shipping the car separately.
Air freight from Jeddah to Turkey
Air freight from Jeddah to Turkey needs two to four days, flying out of Jeddah’s main airport and landing in Istanbul, Ankara or another Turkish hub. It suits official documents, prescribed medicines, phones and laptops, and clothes for the first weeks before the container lands. It does not suit furniture, as heavy weights are very expensive by air.
Air freight is billed on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, with volumetric weight = (length × width × height in cm) ÷ 6,000. A 75 × 50 × 30 cm suitcase counts as 18.75 kg, so if it is full of clothes weighing 14 kg it is billed at 18.75. Our advice: dense and small by air, bulky and light in the container.

Car shipping from Jeddah to Turkey
Cars go from Jeddah to Turkey by sea, in a closed container alone or with furniture, or on a RoRo ship onto which the car rolls under its own power before being chained down. Before shipping, know that Turkey distinguishes between temporary entry and permanent import, and permanent import of used cars by individuals is restricted, with high duties and taxes.

Temporary entry lets a resident abroad use a foreign-plated car in Turkey for a set period without registering it; for Turkish citizens living abroad this can reach 730 days under conditions, while for foreigners it is tied to their permitted stay. A temporarily imported car cannot be sold or transferred in Turkey. So we ask about your aim before shipping, a long visit, residence or sale, and check the papers with the Turkish broker before loading.
⚠️ Before shipping a car to sell in Turkey
Do not ship a used car to Turkey to sell it before the broker tells you the taxes and duties involved; they can exceed the value of the car itself.
RoRo, containers and car shipping details are on car shipping.
Moving furniture from Jeddah to Turkey and packing it for the sea
Furniture bound for Turkey spends days in a container at sea, and humidity and temperature swings between Jeddah and the Mediterranean are the main risks. So our crew wraps every wooden piece in heavy film against the surface, then blankets, then card corners, puts moisture absorbers inside the container and dries appliances completely before closing them.

A carpenter dismantles bedrooms and wardrobes, numbering panels and bagging screws on each piece; kitchens come apart unit by unit; a technician removes air conditioners after recovering the gas; glass and marble go into wooden crates when needed. An inventory of every item and carton is written in Arabic and English, as Turkish customs require it.
🪵 Wood
Heavy film, then a blanket, then card corners, with nothing left exposed.
🪞 Glass and mirrors
Double cartons or wooden crates with foam between layers.
🛋️ Sofas and mattresses
Sealed bags against humidity and dust for the whole voyage.
🔌 Appliances
Fully dried, foam and film, stowed upright in the container.

Call 0560533140 WhatsAppFurnishing a holiday home in Trabzon, Bursa and Istanbul
If you own a holiday flat or villa in Trabzon, Bursa, Istanbul or Yalova and want to move part of your furniture, an Arabic majlis, rugs or appliances you are used to, this section is for you. These loads are usually medium-sized and suit shared shipping to Mersin or Istanbul, then road transport to the city.
The key point is that a holiday-home owner may not hold long-term residence in Turkey, so the household effects rules for people relocating do not always apply and some items may be charged. We ask about your residence type and title deed before shipping, check them with the Turkish broker and suggest shipping only what is worth it. An Arabic majlis in particular is hard to find in the same sizes in Turkey and is usually worth shipping.
Rules for bringing used furniture into Turkey
Used household furniture can enter Turkey under the household effects system for people relocating, provided the owner has papers proving residence. Foreigners are usually asked for a valid residence permit, a registered rental contract or title deed for the home, a passport and a detailed inventory. Returning Turkish citizens need proof of their residence abroad.
New unused goods, quantities that look commercial and many appliances of the same type are not treated as household effects and may attract duties and taxes. Owners of holiday homes in Turkey without residence are treated differently, so we review your situation with the Turkish broker before shipping and tell you exactly what is needed.
Documents needed to ship from Jeddah to Turkey
- Copy of the owner’s passport and iqama or Saudi ID.
- Turkish residence permit and rental contract or title deed for household effects entry.
- A detailed inventory in Arabic and English of every carton and item.
- Electronic authorisation for the broker through Fasah for export from the Kingdom.
- Ocean bill of lading in the recipient’s name in Turkey.
- For a car: original registration, export papers and what the temporary entry system requires.
- For goods: commercial invoice, certificate of origin and the Turkish importer’s details.
Prohibited items when shipping from Jeddah to Turkey
Flammables, gas cylinders, weapons, perishable food, plants and soil cannot be shipped with furniture to Turkey. Large quantities of medicine, wireless devices and drones need approvals, and drinks, tobacco and multiple electronic devices are subject to quantity limits.
🔥 Hazardous
Fuel, paint, solvents, sprays, gas cylinders, fireworks.
🌱 Agricultural
Live plants, soil, seeds and unpackaged food.
📱 Electronics in quantity
Several phones or devices of the same type may count as commercial.
💎 Valuable and personal
Jewellery, cash and original documents travel in your bag, not the container.
What you pay when the container reaches Turkey
The Saudi Express price covers the agreed transport, packing, sea freight, clearance and delivery; Turkish government charges depend on the owner’s status and the type of goods. Used household effects of someone relocating with proper papers are usually exempt, while new items and commercial goods attract customs duty and Turkish VAT, generally 20%.
At the Turkish port there are handling and storage charges, which grow if clearance runs past the free period, plus the broker’s fee. The most common cause of delay is missing residence papers or housing contract when the container arrives, so we remind you before sailing and send an estimate of what may be paid in Turkey so you can plan your budget.
Commercial goods from Jeddah to Turkey
Saudi Express ships goods from Jeddah to Turkey in full containers or groupage: dates and packaged food, perfumes and incense, permitted plastic and chemical products, and equipment. Traders need a detailed commercial invoice, a certificate of origin, a packing list and the Turkish importer’s details and tax number.
Some food products and cosmetics need registration or prior approval in Turkey, and Turkish customs check weights and counts against the invoice carefully. We review your documents before loading and make sure items are described correctly, so the container does not sit in port for extra days.
What happens after the container reaches the Turkish port?
After discharge at Mersin or Istanbul the Turkish broker files the customs declaration with the bill of lading, inventory and residence papers; the container is examined, goods matched with the list, and release issued. This usually takes three to seven working days, less when papers are complete before the ship arrives.
Cities we deliver to in Turkey
Saudi Express delivers from Jeddah to most Turkish provinces: Istanbul on both European and Asian sides, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Yalova, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Antalya, Trabzon, Samsun, Mersin, Adana, Gaziantep, Hatay, Konya and Kayseri. In Istanbul neighbourhoods with narrow streets we use smaller vehicles to shuttle goods from the truck to the building.

After clearance our representative in Turkey calls to set a delivery day. The crew unloads, places items in rooms by number and reassembles beds and wardrobes. Many Istanbul buildings require permission from management for the lift or truck parking, so arrange that in advance.
Jeddah districts we collect from for Turkey
We collect from every Jeddah district, including Obhur Al Shamaliyah, Al Shati, Al Mohammadiyah, Al Naeem, Al Zahra, Al Salamah, Al Rawdah, Al Khalidiyah, Al Hamra, Al Basateen, Al Murjan, Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Faisaliyah, Al Rabwah, Al Nuzhah, Al Rehab, Al Samer, Al Ajwad, Al Harazat, Al Jamiah, Al Aziziyah, Mushrifah, Al Baghdadiyah and Al Balad, and outside the city in Rabigh and King Abdullah Economic City.
The closeness of Jeddah Islamic Port to the southern and central districts shortens container transfer after loading, and for towers and compounds we ask you to book the lift and exit permit with management two days before.
Before the packing crew reaches your home
The day moves faster once you have emptied the fridge and left it open for two days, removed the gas bottle, cleaners and sprays, gathered in one room whatever flies with you, put papers and gold in your hand bag and booked the lift with building management. Mark clearly any pieces you will sell or leave in Jeddah.
If you have only a few things, such as a student finishing studies or an employee moving alone, you can seal your own cartons and bring them to our warehouse; they join the shared container and you pay only for their volume. If your Turkish home is not ready yet, we keep your goods packed in a Jeddah warehouse until you choose a sailing, and we recommend marine insurance for valuable pieces based on the declared value.

Mistakes that hold a container at a Turkish port
📄 Missing residence papers
A container arriving before the residence permit or registered housing contract means waiting and storage costs.
📝 A single-language list
An Arabic-only inventory lengthens inspection; Arabic and English is better.
📦 Undeclared new items
New boxed appliances left off the list take the load out of the household effects system.
💧 Undried appliances
A fridge or washer with water inside causes damp and odours in a sealed container.
Tips before shipping your home from Jeddah to Turkey
Turkey uses 230 volts, so Jeddah appliances usually work without converters, but sockets are the round European type, so bring simple plug adapters. Winters in Ankara, Trabzon and Istanbul are cold and wet, so do not pack winter clothes and blankets at the back of the container.
Before deciding, compare the cost of shipping a piece with buying a similar one in Turkey. Cheap heavy furniture is rarely worth it; good appliances, hand-made rugs, custom furniture and family keepsakes are. Have your Turkish residence papers ready before the container arrives, because delays mean storage days at the port.
💡 Book before summer
Containers to Turkey get busy before summer, the season when families and holiday-home owners move, so reserve your slot about three weeks in advance.
