How much does shipping from Madinah to Morocco cost?
Shipping from Madinah to Morocco starts from SAR 460 for a small parcel up to 5 kg, SAR 2,790 for bedroom furniture, SAR 5,550 for a private twenty-foot box, and SAR 7,400 for a forty-foot one. The final price depends on volume, container type and the Moroccan city of delivery.
A private container suits anyone moving a whole home on final return: it is loaded at the door, sealed and shared with no one. A student sending books and a few things, or a family sending part of its furniture, does better with a shared container, paying by volume only.

How does a shipment get from Madinah to Morocco?
By sea: goods are loaded into the container in Madinah or trucked to the consolidation warehouse, the container travels about 420 km by road to Jeddah Islamic Port, then sails through the Red Sea, the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean to Tanger Med or Casablanca. From the port it is cleared and taken to your address.
There is no practical road route for furniture from Madinah to Morocco, since it would cross several countries with different procedures, so sea is the standard route for large volumes and air for small parcels. Tanger Med is one of the Mediterranean’s biggest transshipment hubs, so many containers arrive there and continue on, while Casablanca is the closest port for central and southern cities. Container details are on sea shipping.
| Method | What it carries | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Private 20 or 40 ft container | A full home on final return | 4 to 6 weeks |
| Shared container | Books, cartons and a few pieces | 5 to 7 weeks |
| Air freight | Parcels, documents and urgent items | roughly 4–8 days |
How long does shipping from Madinah to Morocco take?
Sea freight usually takes 4 to 6 weeks from collection to delivery when the box is yours alone; allow up to an extra week for a shared box. Included in that window: trucking to Jeddah, the wait for a sailing, the voyage itself, any change of vessel, clearance in Morocco and the final drive.
If your final return has a fixed date, ship the container weeks before you travel, or arrange for a relative in Morocco to receive it under a power of attorney. Carry what you need for the first month, or send it by air.

Shipping Islamic University students’ books from Madinah to Morocco
Book shipping is one of the most common requests on this line, because many Islamic University students return with large libraries built up over years of study. Books are heavy, so they go by sea in a shared container, priced by volume and weight.
We pack books in small, strong cartons, because a large carton full of books is hard to lift and tears. Books lie flat rather than standing on their edges so the covers keep their shape, and valuable volumes and manuscripts are wrapped in film before going into the carton to protect them from sea humidity. Every carton is numbered and its contents described broadly on the list, such as “fiqh books” or “hadith volumes”.
If there are a great many books, a private 20 ft container may cost less than a shared one, especially with some furniture alongside. We help you compare by carton count.
Air freight from Madinah to Morocco
Air freight suits small parcels, documents, light devices and clothes you need on arrival, usually taking 4 to 8 days depending on flights and clearance at Mohammed V Airport or elsewhere. Books and furniture are very costly by air.
Air carriers calculate volumetric weight by multiplying the dimensions in cm and dividing by 6000, and charge the higher of that and the real weight. A 60 × 40 × 40 cm carton of clothes is 16 kg volumetric, while a small 40 × 30 × 25 cm book carton is 5 kg volumetric but may weigh over 15 kg, so it is charged on actual weight. Car shipping from Madinah to Morocco
A car goes by sea in a closed container, strapped down with wheel chocks, from Jeddah port to the Moroccan port. Before shipping, know the basic rule: permanent import of a car into Morocco requires it to be no more than 5 years old, counted from first registration.
Charges on imported cars in Morocco are high, combining customs duty, 20% VAT and other levies, and the total can approach half of the car’s customs value. Moroccans resident abroad have specific cases and exceptions under set conditions, so check with Morocco’s Customs and Indirect Tax Administration before booking. Shipping options are on car shipping.

Packing furniture for a long voyage to Morocco
Packing for Morocco is built for a voyage of several weeks with humidity, temperature changes and possible transshipment between vessels. We use blankets then heavy film, put moisture absorbers in the container, and secure the load with straps and bracing.
Wardrobes and beds are dismantled with screws in numbered bags, sofas and majlis seating wrapped in film then board at the edges, and glass and mirrors in corrugated board or wooden crates. Appliances are emptied and dried completely before wrapping, because moisture trapped for weeks causes rust and mould. Rugs are rolled, never folded.

Documents and customs for Morocco
The basic papers are copies of the owner’s passport and Moroccan national ID, a detailed packing list and a bill of lading in their name. A Moroccan returning for good after living abroad may qualify for an exemption on used belongings and furniture under the conditions of the Customs and Indirect Tax Administration, including length of residence abroad and proof of change of residence.
So we recommend preparing your Saudi residence certificate and proof that work or study has ended, such as an Islamic University letter for students, before shipping. Brand-new appliances in trade-like quantities are assessed as merchandise.
Drones and Morocco
Morocco is strict about drones entering without prior authorisation, and they may be seized at customs. Do not pack one unless you have the licence.
What cannot be shipped to Morocco?
Moroccan law bars drugs, arms and ammunition, and fake branded goods. Inside the container, leave out anything that burns or pressurises: petrol, gas bottles, solvents, swollen or broken batteries. Licences are required for drones and certain radio devices; seeds, soil and fresh produce go through sanitary checks; prescription medicine is fine for your own use with the doctor’s note.
Commercial cargo to Morocco
Trade consignments travel in a full or shared box, backed by the seller’s invoice, an origin certificate, the bill of lading and a Moroccan importer of record. Dates, perfumes, clothing and books for sale are frequent, each with its own entry requirements.
Delivery in Morocco, insurance and storage
Once released by Moroccan customs, the box is driven to your door; our partners empty it, tick each carton off the list and put furniture together if you ask. Look over every piece while it is being unloaded and take a photo of anything that concerns you on the spot.
For a multi-week sea passage, cargo insurance is worth considering; you choose the insured value when booking. If you leave Madinah before your new residence papers or home in Morocco are ready, we can hold everything in furniture storage and release it once you are settled.
Cities we deliver to in Morocco
We deliver from Madinah to Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Fez, Meknes, Marrakech, Agadir, Oujda, Tetouan, Kenitra and other Moroccan cities. Loads for the north usually come via Tanger Med, those for the centre and south via Casablanca.

Districts we collect from in Madinah
We collect from every district of Madinah, including student housing around the Islamic University, Al Aziziyah, Quba, Al Awali, Sultanah, Al Jurf, Al Difa, Al Khalidiyah, Al Iskan and Al Anabis, and from towns across the region like Badr, Yanbu, Al Hinakiyah, AlUla, Khaybar and Al Mahd. We collect books from the student’s own room and pack them there.
How much does a container hold? A quick comparison
A 20 ft container holds about 33 cubic metres, generally right for a two- to three-bedroom flat or a large library with some furniture, and a 40 ft container about 67 cubic metres for a whole home. For books: a hundred small 40 × 30 × 25 cm book cartons take only about 3 cubic metres but can weigh over a tonne and a half. That is why books are costed differently from furniture; sofas are bulky and light, books the reverse.
What raises or lowers the price?
Shipping old pieces not worth moving, badly filled large cartons that waste space, and delivery to a city far from the port all push the price up. Joining a shared container for a small quantity, booking early before the return seasons, and filling small cartons tightly all bring it down.
Before the team reaches your home or student room
Gather the books in one room and take out official papers and original certificates to carry yourself. Empty and dry the fridge two days ahead, and decide what stays in Madinah or goes to friends. In university housing, ask the housing office when the team may enter and carry cartons.
Are your appliances suitable for Morocco’s power supply?
Morocco runs at 50 Hz and about 220 V with European round-pin plugs, while Saudi Arabia uses 60 Hz. Modern electronics such as laptops, screens and chargers usually support both and only need a plug adapter. Before putting a fridge, AC or washer in the container, read the label: 50/60 Hz is fine, 60 Hz only means asking a technician, since buying new in Morocco may be cheaper than shipping, especially given duties on fairly new appliances.
