Shipping prices from Qassim to Turkey
Shipping from Qassim to Turkey starts from SAR 420 per cubic metre in groupage, SAR 1,120 for a bedroom, SAR 7,900 for a 20 ft container that fits an apartment, SAR 6,050 for a car by RoRo and SAR 14 per kg by air.
In sea freight the load type sets the price before anything else. One or two rooms are cheaper in groupage, where your goods share a container with other shipments and you pay only for your cubic metres. A full home suits a dedicated container, loaded at your house, sealed and opened only at Turkish customs. Then come the Turkish port and city: delivery in Istanbul from Ambarli is close, while Ankara or Trabzon adds inland trucking within Turkey.
Our quote covers packing, trucking to the Saudi port, clearance there and the sea freight, and we show clearance in Turkey and door delivery as a separate line, because they vary by city and by your customs status.

How long does shipping from Qassim to Turkey take?
Sea freight from Qassim to Turkey takes 18 to 30 days door to door, and air freight 3 to 6 days.
The sea time splits into stages: packing and loading in Qassim, trucking to the port, waiting for the vessel, the voyage through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean, unloading and clearance in Turkey, then delivery. Sailing from Jeddah is shorter than from Dammam because it does not go around the peninsula, but the road from Qassim to Dammam is shorter, so we pick the port with the nearest sailing to the Turkish port that suits you. Groupage waits for the container to fill and may add days.
Approximate times:
| Method | Turkish port or airport | Approximate door-to-door time |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated container | Ambarli (Istanbul) | 18 to 25 days |
| Dedicated container | Mersin | 18 to 25 days |
| Groupage | Ambarli or Mersin | 22 to 30 days |
| Car by RoRo | Per available RoRo line | 20 to 30 days |
| Air | Istanbul Airport | 3 to 6 days |
Groupage or a dedicated container: how to decide
A working rule: if your packed volume is under about 12 to 15 cubic metres, groupage is usually cheaper; above that, a 20 ft container comes close in price and wins on protection and speed.
To give a sense of scale, a full bedroom with its wardrobe usually takes 6 to 9 cubic metres once packed, a majlis or sofa set 4 to 6, the kitchen and large appliances 3 to 5, and every ten medium boxes about one cubic metre. A two-bedroom apartment with living room and kitchen often reaches 20 to 25 cubic metres, which is where a dedicated container makes sense. These are rough figures; we calculate the exact volume from photos or a survey before quoting.
Ways to ship from Qassim to Turkey
The main way to ship from Qassim to Turkey is by sea in containers, with air for urgent parcels. The overland route through Jordan and Syria is not a route we use for moving furniture to Turkey.
Dedicated container (FCL)
A 20 ft container usually fits a two- or three-bedroom apartment, and a 40 ft container a villa or large home. The container comes to your home in Qassim if the street allows; we load it in front of you and seal it, and it is opened only at customs inspection. The advantage is that your belongings are untouched from loading to arrival.
Groupage (LCL)
If you have less than a container, we consolidate your goods with other Turkey-bound shipments in one container and you pay only for the metres you use. Goods are packed firmly, stacked on wooden pallets and wrapped together with your details on them, so they stay separate inside the container.
Air freight
Air from Qassim to Turkey suits small urgent parcels, documents and devices. Parcels leave from Riyadh or from Qassim’s own airport and land at Istanbul Airport, starting from SAR 14 per kg. Airlines bill whichever is higher: what the parcel weighs, or its size-based weight, found by multiplying its three dimensions in cm and dividing the result by 6000. A box measuring 50 by 50 by 40 cm is therefore billed near 17 kg, even when it weighs less.
Packing furniture for sea freight to Turkey
Sea freight exposes furniture to humidity and temperature swings over weeks at sea, so we pack in moisture-proof layers and secure everything inside the container against the motion of the waves.
Wood is wrapped in blankets and then two layers of stretch film; leather and fabric are covered in breathable cloth before the film so moisture does not condense on them. Appliances are dried completely and moisture-absorbing sachets go into the boxes with them. Mirrors, glass and antiques go into wooden crates made of treated timber to meet export requirements. Inside the container we stack heavy items low, fill the gaps with boxes or cushions, and strap the load to the container’s lashing rings.
Appliances and air conditioners
Saudi appliances work in Turkey because both run on 220 volts, but the plug shape differs, so simple adapters are needed. The fridge and washer are dried completely two days before, with doors held by tape that leaves no residue. Split ACs are removed by a technician after the gas is recovered, and the outdoor unit ships upright. Screens are bubble-wrapped and stood in rigid boxes between mattresses so the ship’s motion does not affect them.

Turkish customs and papers for used furniture
To clear used furniture in Turkey, a foreigner usually needs a passport, a valid Turkish residence or work permit, a Turkish tax number, a notarised lease or title deed, a detailed packing list and a bill of lading in their name.
According to the guides used by accredited international movers, permanent import for a foreigner requires a notarised lease of at least 12 months or a title deed, plus a record of entries and exits from Turkey for the last two years from the police directorate. A returning Turkish citizen has different papers, including a permanent-return certificate from the Turkish consulate and an entry-exit record for the last three years. Where these conditions are not met, taxes may be payable on the goods. So we ask about your situation in Turkey before shipping and arrange the papers with the broker there.
Foreigners obtain the Turkish tax number from a tax office with their passport, and it is needed for most dealings there, so get it early. In groupage the container is unloaded at a bonded warehouse on arrival, then each shipment is cleared in its owner’s name and released, so it is your own papers that decide when your goods leave the warehouse, whatever the other shipments in the container are doing.
- Passport and a valid Turkish residence or work permit.
- A Turkish tax number in the owner’s name.
- A notarised lease of at least 12 months or a title deed.
- An entry-exit record from the Turkish police directorate.
- A detailed packing list and a bill of lading in the passport holder’s name.
Car shipping from Qassim to Turkey
We ship cars from Qassim to Turkey by RoRo from SAR 6,050, or inside a container for new and luxury cars. Before shipping, though, confirm the car can be brought in, because Turkey’s rules differ from the Gulf.
On RoRo the car is driven up the ramp onto the vessel and secured on deck, uncovered, which is cheaper. In a container it is strapped by its wheels inside a closed box, which protects valuable cars better. On the customs side, what Turkey usually allows residents abroad is temporary import of a private car registered in their country of residence: the owner must have lived outside Turkey for more than 185 days in the previous year, the car can stay up to 730 days, and its ownership cannot be transferred to anyone in Turkey. Permanent import of a used car comes with conditions and high taxes, so we check it with you before any booking.
In Saudi Arabia, the traffic department issues export plates for the car after any fines are settled, or keeps its Saudi plates if the import is temporary, and we prepare a triptyque if you need one.

Commercial goods and parcels to Turkey
We ship commercial goods from Qassim to Turkey in full or shared containers, and personal parcels by air or within sea groupage.
Commercial goods need a commercial invoice, certificate of origin, packing list and an importer registered in Turkey, and Turkish duty is charged by the tariff line of each item. Packed dates and Qassim food products need factory packaging with ingredient and expiry labels, and health certificates may be requested. Personal parcels for students and families, such as clothes, books and gifts, can go by air if urgent, while sea groupage is cheaper for what can wait.
What cannot be shipped to Turkey?
Turkish customs and the shipping lines refuse guns and ammunition, drugs, gas bottles and other flammables, prescription medicines without the prescription, fake branded goods, and perishable food packed in a container.
For sea freight in particular we ask that large loose batteries, perfumes in quantity, aerosols and strong cleaning products stay out of the furniture, since they are classed as dangerous goods at sea and the shipping line may refuse them. Cash, jewellery and original documents belong in your own bag.
Cities we deliver to in Turkey
We deliver shipments from Qassim to Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, Trabzon, Samsun, Konya, Gaziantep, Adana, Mersin, Kocaeli and other Turkish provinces.
Istanbul, Bursa and Kocaeli are close to Ambarli, so we use it for them. Adana, Mersin, Gaziantep and Antalya are nearer Mersin Port, which shortens inland trucking. Ankara and Konya lie in the centre and Trabzon and Samsun on the Black Sea, so the goods reach them by road from the port after clearance. In Istanbul’s old districts the streets are narrow, so the container may be unloaded at a warehouse and the goods taken home in a small truck.
Within Istanbul, delivery differs between the European side, with districts such as Başakşehir, Esenyurt and Beylikdüzü relatively close to Ambarli, and the Asian side, such as Üsküdar and Ataşehir, which means crossing a bridge at busy times. We schedule delivery away from rush hours and ask about the floor and lift, since many residential buildings in Istanbul use external furniture lifts for large pieces when the stairs are tight.

Collection points across Qassim for Turkey shipments
Containers and groupage pickups for Turkey run from anywhere in the region: the city of Buraydah, Unaizah and Ar Rass in the south-west, Al Bukayriyah and Al Badaya to the west, Al Mithnab further south, and the smaller governorates such as Uyun Al Jiwa, Al Asyah, An Nabhaniyah and Riyadh Al Khabra.
In Buraydah we reach districts such as Al Safra, Al Fayziyah, Al Khaleej, Al Rayyan, Al Iskan, Al Aziziyah, Al Basr and Khub Rawdan. If the street cannot take a container outside the house, we shuttle the goods by dyna to a nearby yard or our warehouse and load the container there.

Tips for shipping your belongings to Turkey
Start the Turkish paperwork before packing, choose between a container and groupage on the numbers rather than guesswork, and do not ship what is easy to buy there.
- Get your Turkish tax number and notarise the lease before the container arrives.
- Saudi appliances run on 220 volts in Turkey, but the plugs are different.
- Ask about your car before shipping; temporary import and permanent import are different things.
- Do not expect furniture on an exact day, since vessel schedules change.
- If your home is not ready, ask for storage in Qassim before shipping.
