Saudi Express is a furniture moving company in Jeddah that handles every piece according to its type: bedrooms are dismantled, numbered and rebuilt, kitchens are disconnected and refitted to size, sofas and majlis sets are wrapped in two layers, antiques, chandeliers and mirrors are packed one by one, and office and villa furniture moves to a plan. We serve every Jeddah district including North and South Obhur, and moving one room or a sofa set starts from SAR 185. Call 0560533140 to book a survey.
How much does it cost to move furniture in Jeddah by piece?
Furniture moving in Jeddah is priced by the pieces, their type and the dismantling and packing they need, starting from SAR 185 for one room or a sofa set. This helps if you are moving part of a home, newly bought items, or furniture from the family house to your new flat, so you do not pay for a full move when you only need two rooms.
Starting prices for moving furniture items inside Jeddah:
| Item or service | What the price covers | Starts from (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| One room or a few items | Loading, transport, unloading | 185 |
| Sofa set | Film and fabric wrapping and transport | 185 |
| Bedroom | Moving the full bedroom | 280 |
| Bedroom dismantling & assembly | Carpenter dismantles, numbers, rebuilds | 185 |
| Dining room | Table, chairs and buffet | 370 |
| Kitchen removal & refit | Disconnect, remove, refit | 230 |
| Large appliance | Fridge, washer or cooker | 140 |
| Air conditioner | Removal and move per unit | 95 |
| Furniture lift | For pieces that will not fit the stairs | 140 |
| Small office | Desks, chairs and cabinets | 1,860 |
| Full villa furniture | Set after survey | 930 |
| Furniture storage | Monthly in a closed warehouse | 140 |
The final figure depends on seeing the pieces: a solid-wood bedroom with a six-door wardrobe is very different from a small children’s room, and a large velvet sofa needs more material than a standard leather one. Send a photo of each item with rough measurements and we will send an itemised price.
How do we move bedrooms in Jeddah without loosening them?
Bedrooms are dismantled by a carpenter who knows how they go together, panels and screws are numbered, each panel is wrapped in heavy film with cardboard corners, and the room is rebuilt in the new home in the same order. The aim is a bedroom as solid as before, with no sagging doors or sticking drawers.

The wardrobe is the hardest piece, as it is tall, heavy and often will not leave the room whole. The carpenter removes shelves and drawers, takes off the doors and wraps the mirrors separately, then removes the sides and back. The bed comes apart into headboard, base and rails, and the mattress goes into a sealed bag against dust and humidity.
Children’s rooms and ready-made particle-board bedrooms need different care because screw holes widen with every dismantling. We use new screws of the same size when needed and add fixing brackets if the board looks weak. Dressers and bedside tables move whole where possible, with drawers held by paper tape that leaves no mark.
Can a kitchen be moved and refitted?
Yes, aluminium and wooden kitchens can be moved and refitted in the new home, starting from SAR 230. We disconnect the sink, plumbing and gas and remove built-in appliances, take down wall units before base units, and keep the worktop in padding, standing on its edge.
Before removal we measure the kitchen wall in the new home and compare it with the current kitchen. If the wall is shorter we suggest leaving out or adapting a unit; if it is longer we leave a gap for a unit to be added later. This prevents the most frustrating surprise of a move: a dismantled kitchen that will not fit its new space.
How do we move sofas, majlis sets and curtains?
Sofas and majlis sets are wrapped in two layers: heavy film against dust and moisture, then a blanket or thick fabric against rubbing and scratches. Wooden legs are removed if possible, cushions go into large clean bags, and a sofa set usually moves from SAR 185.

Floor majlis cushions and mattresses are folded, tied and wrapped in groups, carpets are rolled on a tube and covered rather than folded, and curtains are taken down with their rails and bagged by room, then rehung in the new home on request.
Leather sofas need special attention in Jeddah’s summer, because leather suffers if wrapped tightly and left in the heat. We load them last and unload them first, with a breathable fabric cover.
How do we pack antiques, chandeliers, mirrors and glass?
Fragile items are wrapped individually in soft paper and bubble wrap, placed in small padded boxes where they cannot move, and marked as fragile with an arrow for orientation. Large mirrors and paintings get cardboard corners and travel upright, and very valuable pieces get a wooden frame when needed.
Crystal chandeliers are photographed, taken apart piece by piece, and their crystals are kept in small numbered bags while the frame is wrapped on its own. Glass and marble tabletops are separated from their bases and travel upright on their edge in a fixed spot in the truck.
How we pack each type of furniture:
| Item type | Packing materials | Loading method |
|---|---|---|
| Solid wood | Film, blanket and corners | Flat at the bottom |
| Particle board | Film and cardboard edges | Flat with nothing heavy on top |
| Fabric sofa | Heavy film then fabric | Upright or flat by size |
| Leather sofa | Breathable fabric cover | Loaded last |
| Glass and mirrors | Paper, bubble wrap, corners | Upright on the edge |
| Antiques and crystal | Small padded boxes | On top of fixed pieces |
| Appliances | Bubble wrap or original box | Upright and strapped |
Moving appliances and air conditioners with your furniture
Appliances travel in the same truck but are loaded differently: fridges and washers stand upright strapped to the truck wall, oven doors are secured, and screens are padded on both sides. A large appliance starts from SAR 140 and AC removal and moving from SAR 95 per unit.
A window AC is removed from its opening and wrapped, while a split unit needs a technician to pump the gas into the outdoor unit before disconnecting the pipes and capping them against dust. It is refitted once the opening and power are ready in the new home.
Do you move office and company furniture in Jeddah?
Yes, from staff desks and chairs to filing cabinets and meeting tables; a small office starts from SAR 1,860. We work at weekends or after hours and number every piece by department and desk, so each one returns to its place at the new premises.
Steel cabinets are emptied and locked, files move in sealed boxes labelled by department, and equipment travels in padded crates. If the new office is in a tower we coordinate the service elevator and loading point with building management in advance.
Moving villa furniture in North and South Obhur
Villas and chalets in North and South Obhur need a different approach: they are large and open-plan, their furniture is usually heavy, such as marble tables, large majlis sets and garden furniture, and some are close to the sea so furniture is exposed to humidity and salt. We use closed trucks and plan each heavy lift.

Internal villa staircases are sometimes curved or narrow at the turn, so a wardrobe or large sofa will not pass; then we use the lift from the balcony or roof, starting from SAR 140. Garden furniture is cleaned of sand before wrapping so the sand does not scratch other items in the truck.
When moving from a flat to an Obhur villa or the other way round, we help you plan where furniture goes and suggest what to store until rooms are finished or new furniture arrives.
When do we dismantle a piece and when do we move it whole?
We dismantle only what will not pass through the door, stairs or lift, or what would break if moved whole. Everything that passes safely travels intact, because every dismantling shortens the life of furniture, especially particle board.
- Usually dismantled: large wardrobes, beds, kitchens, large dining tables, desks with returns.
- Usually moved whole: bedside tables, small dressers, chairs, small sets, low cabinets.
- Decided after measuring: large L-shaped sofas, buffets, steel cabinets.
How do we move heavy items such as pianos, safes and gym equipment?
Heavy items move with a separate lifting plan, more crew and handling equipment, because their weight sits in a small footprint and is hard to carry by hand on stairs. Pianos, steel safes, treadmills and home gym machines are priced after the survey, since weight and floor level change the whole method.
A piano is closed, wrapped in thick blankets, moved on a rubber-wheeled dolly and lifted by the external lift if the stairs are narrow. A safe is emptied and locked and moved on a heavy-duty trolley over wooden boards that protect marble and tiles. Treadmills are folded or have their arm removed, with belts secured before loading.
Do you move furniture within the same building or between floors?
Yes. Moving between two flats in the same building or from one floor to another is quicker and cheaper because it usually needs no truck, but it needs the same care in dismantling, wrapping and protecting stairs and lifts. We pad the lift walls, cover stair corners and line items up in the corridor in the order they will enter the new flat.
Furniture for newlyweds and new homes in Jeddah
A newlywed home often gathers furniture from several sources: a bedroom from one showroom, a majlis from another shop, appliances from a warehouse and items from the family home. We collect them in one organised run, deliver and assemble them, setting up the bedroom and kitchen first, then majlis sets and curtains, then appliances. If painting or finishing is still under way, we store items until it is done.
What to do with furniture that does not suit the new home
You have three options: store it in a closed warehouse from SAR 140 a month until you decide, sell it through our used furniture buying in Jeddah service, or deliver it to a relative’s home in the same move. Deciding before moving day saves you paying to move something you will not use.
Stored items are wrapped and stacked on pallets off the floor with a written list; details are on the furniture storage page.
Our steps from survey to handover
- You send photos or we visit, and we write a list of what will move.
- We decide what to dismantle and what to move whole, and choose packing for each piece.
- The carpenter and packing team arrive on time and work room by room.
- Items are loaded in order and strapped inside a closed truck.
- Each item goes to its room and bedrooms and the kitchen are rebuilt.
- We check the list with you piece by piece before the crew leaves.

The list written at the survey is the same one we check at handover, so you know every piece reached its place. If anything needs adjusting after assembly, the carpenter handles it before leaving.
Moving new furniture from showrooms to your home
If you bought new furniture from a Jeddah showroom without delivery or assembly, we collect it from the showroom or warehouse and assemble it at home. New furniture usually arrives flat-packed, so the carpenter builds it from the instructions and fixes tall wardrobes to the wall. We suggest opening the boxes in front of the crew to confirm all parts and screws are there.
How can you tell a furniture mover is serious before booking?
A serious company asks before pricing: how many rooms, what wood, is there a lift, how big is the largest piece and where will the truck park. Someone who gives a final figure in the first minute without a question will usually add charges on moving day. Look for a mover who asks for photos or a survey, itemises the price, sends a carpenter rather than loaders only, uses closed trucks and new packing, writes an item list and checks it at handover, and confirms a clear time.
Moving furniture in Jeddah’s old districts
In Al Balad, Al Hindawiyah, Al Kandarah and Al Nuzlah houses stand close together, lanes are narrow and some older buildings have tight stone staircases and low doors. We use a small dyna or dabab to shuttle pieces from the door to the main street where the larger truck waits, dismantle items to the smallest practical size, work in the morning when traffic is lighter, and protect old stairwell walls that suffer from rubbing.
