Saudi Express ships your household belongings from Madinah to Jordan by road in closed trucks that head north to Tabuk, cross at Halat Ammar into Jordan’s Al Mudawwara post, and continue to Amman, Zarqa, Irbid or any Jordanian governorate. Expect 4–7 days with a private truck; one bedroom is priced from SAR 2,640, and cars go on separate carriers or by triptyque if you drive. Phone or WhatsApp 0560533140.

How much does shipping from Madinah to Jordan cost?
Shipping from Madinah to Jordan starts from SAR 2,640 for a single bedroom, SAR 7,350 for a two-bedroom flat and SAR 92 per carton in groupage. The final price is based on the volume of your belongings in cubic metres, the type of service and the Jordanian governorate where you receive.
Jordan costs more than some nearby Gulf states because the truck covers the long northern road and then a good distance inside Jordan to Amman or Irbid, through two border posts. A full load is still usually cheaper than selling furniture in Madinah and buying again in Jordan, especially bedrooms, majlis sets and modern appliances.
Starting prices:
| Service | Service details | From (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Standard carton | Sealed, numbered goods in groupage | 92 |
| Single bedroom | Dismantle, pack, move and reassemble in Jordan | 2,640 |
| Two-bedroom flat | Rooms, living room, kitchen and appliances | 7,350 |
| Fridge or washer | Single appliance, blanket-wrapped | 600 |
| Split AC | Both units after gas recovery | 510 |
| Car on a carrier | From Madinah to Amman | Ask for the price by phone or WhatsApp |
| Parcels by air | Essentials needed on arrival | Ask for the price by phone or WhatsApp |
What raises or lowers the price?
Volume, pieces that need wooden crates, high floors without lifts in Madinah or Jordan, and delivery to governorates off the main road all raise the price. Clearing out old pieces, using groupage for small loads and packing your own cartons well all lower it.
The route from Madinah to Jordan: why Halat Ammar?
The direct route goes north through Tabuk, crosses at Halat Ammar on the Saudi side opposite Jordan’s Al Mudawwara post, then follows the Ma’an road and the Desert Highway to Amman. For loads leaving Madinah this is much shorter than the Al Haditha crossing, which suits shipments from Riyadh, Qassim and Al Jouf.
The route is also close to Aqaba: loads for Aqaba or Ma’an arrive soon after Al Mudawwara, then trucks continue to Amman, Zarqa and Irbid. Trucks go through exit, entry and inspection at Halat Ammar and Al Mudawwara, with times that vary by season and peak in the summer holidays when many expatriates return. See land shipping for truck types.
How long does shipping from Madinah to Jordan take?
Usually 4 to 7 days by dedicated truck from loading to delivery in Amman, a little longer for Irbid and Mafraq in the north, with extra time for groupage while the truck fills.
| Stage | Place | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Dismantling, packing, loading | Your home in Madinah | One day |
| The road north | Madinah to Tabuk, then Halat Ammar | One to two days |
| Crossing | Halat Ammar, then Al Mudawwara | A day or more in peak seasons |
| Inside Jordan | Ma’an, then Amman, Zarqa and Irbid | One to two days |

Car shipping from Madinah to Jordan
There are two ways: on an enclosed or open car carrier through Halat Ammar with delivery in Amman or elsewhere, or driving the car yourself through the border for temporary use. A carrier suits anyone who does not want to drive over 1,000 km, moves more than one car, or is flying.
If the car will be imported and registered in Jordan, check the rules of Jordan Customs and the Land Transport Regulatory Commission before shipping, as they change by government decision. Recently announced rules ban salvage cars damaged by major accidents such as fire or flooding, and ban importing electric cars more than three years old. We check your car’s situation with you before booking so it does not arrive and then fail clearance.
You will need the registration, proof of ownership and a no-objection letter from any lender. Carrier details are on our car shipping page.

Driving your car to Jordan with a triptyque
If you will drive your Saudi car to Jordan and back, or use it there temporarily, a triptyque (customs pass book) lets you bring it in without paying customs duty while it is valid, provided the car leaves before it expires. It is issued through the competent body in the Kingdom and needs the registration, licence and insurance valid in Jordan. See our triptyque page.
Air freight from Madinah to Jordan
Air freight suits documents, clothes, small devices and anything you need on arrival, typically reaching Queen Alia International Airport and clearing within two to four days. Furniture does not suit air, because the cost follows size.
Air carriers calculate volumetric weight as length × width × height in cm divided by 6000, and you pay the higher of that and the real weight. A 70 × 45 × 30 cm suitcase of clothes comes to 15.75 kg volumetric. The usual advice: carry your official papers, fly what you need in the first week, and leave the rest for the truck. More on air shipping.
Packing household belongings for the Jordan trip
Packing for Jordan takes two things into account: the long road and the change in climate, since a load can leave Madinah’s heat and arrive in a cold Amman or Irbid winter. Wood and sofas get blankets then heavy film, and appliances are dried completely before wrapping so that no condensation forms inside with the temperature change.
Wardrobe doors and shelves come off, beds are dismantled, and screws go into bags marked with the piece number. Majlis seating and sofas get dust film, mattresses go into sealed bags, glass and mirrors into corrugated board, and large ones, chandeliers and paintings into made-to-size wooden crates.
Personal belongings such as copies of the Quran, books, photos and keepsakes need small, strong cartons, because their weight tears large ones. Each carton is numbered and its contents written on the list.

Air conditioners and kitchens
A split AC has its gas pumped into the outdoor unit before removal and the pipe ends capped; a technician in Jordan reinstalls it and recharges the gas if needed. Kitchen cabinets can be dismantled and moved if they will fit the new kitchen, numbered in order. Gas cylinders are never shipped.
Documents and customs for Jordan
The basic documents are a copy of the sender’s passport and iqama or ID, a copy of the recipient’s passport or Jordanian ID card, and a detailed carton-by-carton packing list. Trade goods additionally require an invoice plus a certificate of origin.
A Jordanian expatriate returning for good after living in the Kingdom may be eligible for special treatment of used household furniture under Jordan Customs conditions, including requirements on the length of residence abroad and proof of end of employment. We recommend preparing your end-of-service or final-exit paper and asking Jordan Customs about current conditions before loading, so the load and its papers arrive complete.
New boxed appliances
Used furniture is generally treated as personal effects, but new sealed appliances in obvious numbers may attract duty. Mark clearly on the list what is used and what is new.
What cannot be shipped to Jordan?
Narcotics, weapons, ammunition and fireworks cannot be shipped to Jordan, and gas cylinders, fuel, flammables and damaged batteries must not travel with furniture. Medicines go in personal quantities with a prescription, and drones and some communication devices need prior approval. Keep gold, cash and original documents with you on the road.
Commercial cargo from Madinah to Jordan
Commercial goods go by full truck or groupage and need a commercial invoice, certificate of origin and a Jordanian importer. Dates, perfumes and food products are common; food is subject to the Jordan Food and Drug Administration’s requirements, so check them before shipping.
Delivery in Jordan, insurance and storage
On arrival the driver calls the recipient, then the team unloads cartons and furniture, matches them to the list number by number and assembles beds, wardrobes and tables. Inspect while assembly is underway; if you see a mark, photograph it and note it on the list before the team leaves.
You can insure the shipment for a value you set before loading, which we recommend for full homes. If your home in Jordan is not ready, or you are staying in Madinah after the furniture leaves, it can be stored temporarily and shipped later.
Mistakes that cost time on the Jordan route
- Forgetting the final-exit or end-of-service paper when returning for good.
- Mixing new appliances with used furniture without noting it on the list.
- Shipping a salvage car or an older electric car intending to register it.
- Shipping at the peak of the summer holidays with a tight arrival date.
- Packing all the books and Qurans into one large carton.
Governorates and cities we deliver to in Jordan
We deliver from Madinah to Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Aqaba, Ma’an, Salt, Mafraq, Karak, Madaba, Jerash and the other governorates. Aqaba and Ma’an are the first stops after Al Mudawwara, then Amman and Zarqa; Irbid and Mafraq are in the north and take a few more hours.

Districts we collect from in Madinah
Pickup is available across Madinah, for instance Al Aziziyah, Al Iskan, Al Awali, Quba, Al Jurf, Sultanah, Al Khalidiyah, Al Difa, Al Anabis, Al Harrah Al Sharqiyah and Al Aqoul, and from the governorates of Khaybar, AlUla, Yanbu, Badr, Al Mahd and Al Hinakiyah. AlUla and Khaybar lie on the road north, so their goods can join a Tabuk-bound load.
Examples to estimate your household volume
A single bedroom with bed, wardrobe and dresser usually takes 6 to 9 cubic metres, a two-bedroom flat with living room and kitchen 16 to 24, and three bedrooms 25 to 38. A full Arabic majlis alone can take 5 to 8 cubic metres, and a fridge or washer about one. These are rough figures: a six-door wardrobe is not a small one, and rugs and books add volume many people overlook, so the final price is based on photos of each room or a short survey.
How to prepare before the team arrives
The day before, empty and dry the fridge, drain the washer, and gather official papers, gold and medicines in a bag that travels with you. Mark the pieces that stay in Madinah or will be sold. If there are wall-mounted chandeliers or mirrors, tell us in advance so we bring suitable wooden crates.
Your appliances and Jordan’s electricity
Jordan runs at 50 Hz and 230 V, Saudi Arabia at 60 Hz, and Jordanian sockets vary between European and British types. Electronics marked 50/60 Hz work fine, sometimes needing just a plug adapter. Motor-driven appliances built for 60 Hz only, such as some older ACs and pumps, may lose performance or run noisily. Check the label before packing and ask whether the appliance is worth its shipping cost to Amman or Irbid; many returnees find selling old ACs in Madinah and buying new in Jordan works out cheaper.
