What does shipping from Madinah to Bahrain cost?
Shipping from Madinah to Bahrain starts from SAR 1,340 for a single bedroom and SAR 3,800 for a two-bedroom flat; office moves are priced by the number of desks, chairs, cabinets and devices. Bahrain is the closest Gulf state to the Eastern Province, but a load from Madinah first crosses the whole width of Saudi Arabia, so the long road leg is the main part of the cost.
What raises the price: large volumes, pieces that need wooden crates such as big mirrors and chandeliers, high floors without lifts, and storage before delivery. What lowers it: clearing out old pieces before the move, packing your own cartons, and choosing groupage if you are not in a hurry.

Route and timing: Madinah to the King Fahd Causeway
A Bahrain-bound load travels by road to Riyadh, then to Dammam and Khobar, then over the King Fahd Causeway, taking 4 to 7 days by dedicated truck. The causeway runs about 25 km over the sea, and Saudi exit and Bahraini entry are handled on the island at its midpoint, which has lanes for trucks.
| Point | What happens | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Madinah | Dismantling, packing, loading, packing list | One day |
| Riyadh then Dammam | The long road across the Kingdom | About two days |
| King Fahd Causeway | Exit and entry customs, truck inspection | Hours to a day |
| Bahrain | Delivery to Manama, Muharraq, Riffa and others | Half a day to a day |
Distances inside Bahrain are short, so most areas are within an hour of the causeway. Causeway traffic peaks at weekends and holidays, so we time the crossing carefully if your delivery date matters. See land shipping for truck types.
Office moving from Madinah to Bahrain
An office move needs different planning from a home move, because the goal is to get people working again quickly. We start with a visit or photos, number every desk, chair and cabinet by employee or department, pack computers and printers in padded cartons, and put archive files in numbered boxes that keep their order.
Servers and sensitive equipment should be disconnected by the company’s own technician, with data backed up before packing. A list goes with the load showing what each box holds and which department it belongs to, so the unloading team can place everything in the new office in Manama, Seef or elsewhere.
New goods and equipment for the office need invoices at customs, while used furniture is declared as used office furniture. A commercial registration in Bahrain makes clearance easier.
Move the office over the weekend
Loading on Thursday evening means the truck reaches Bahrain a few days later, the new office is set up and staff return with minimal downtime.

Air freight from Madinah to Bahrain
Air freight is the fastest way to send documents, contracts and small devices to Bahrain, usually arriving within two to four days depending on flights and procedures at Bahrain International Airport. It does not suit furniture, since its price follows size.
The volumetric rule: multiply the parcel’s dimensions in centimetres and divide by 6000, compare the result with the scale weight, and the higher one is charged. A 40 × 30 × 30 cm file box has a volumetric weight of 6 kg; if it weighs 9 kg, you pay for 9. Paper is heavy for its size, so flying it is reasonable. More on air shipping.
Car shipping from Madinah to Bahrain
A car goes on a carrier across the King Fahd Causeway, enclosed for newer cars or open for everyday ones. It is inspected and photographed before loading, with mileage and fuel recorded, and delivered to your chosen address.
Before shipping a car to be registered in Bahrain, check the General Directorate of Traffic’s rules on year of manufacture and specifications; we confirm them with you before booking so the car does not arrive and then fail registration. You will need the registration, proof of ownership and a no-objection letter if the car is financed.
If you are just driving over the causeway for a visit, no shipping is needed: insurance valid in Bahrain and the car papers are enough. Shipping is for a car you will not drive yourself, or one that will stay. See car shipping.

Packing furniture for Bahrain
Packing for Bahrain has to cope with heat and humidity together: the trip starts in Madinah’s dry air and ends in a humid coastal climate. We use heavy film over blankets for wood and sofas, and add moisture-absorbing sachets to cartons of clothes and books on request.
Bare wood gets blankets then film; glossy surfaces get a protective sheet under the blanket so fibres do not stick. Large mirrors, paintings and chandeliers go into wooden crates built to size. Appliances are emptied, dried and their doors taped with residue-free tape.

Documents and customs on the King Fahd Causeway
For household furniture you need a copy of the sender’s ID, a copy of the recipient’s Bahraini CPR card or passport, and a detailed packing list. Commercial or new office goods need invoices and a certificate of origin, and an importer’s commercial registration in Bahrain where required.
Customs on the causeway inspect the truck and may open some cartons, so a clear list shortens the check. A family’s used furniture is normally treated as personal effects, while new appliances beyond a household’s needs are treated as goods and need invoices.
Prohibited and restricted items for Bahrain
Narcotics, weapons, ammunition and fireworks cannot be shipped to Bahrain, and flammables, gas cylinders, fuel and damaged batteries must not travel with furniture. Drones and some communication devices may need prior permits, and medicines go in personal quantities with their prescription.
Keep original papers out of office boxes
Passports, original company contracts and key records travel by hand or separately by air, never in archive boxes inside the truck.
Shipping cartons and personal belongings to Bahrain
If you are not moving a whole home, your cartons and suitcases can travel from Madinah to Bahrain in groupage, paying only for the space they use. It suits a student in Bahrain, an employee taking clothes and books, or a family sending gifts to relatives.
Tell us the number of cartons and rough sizes before collection. Make each carton strong and taped on both ends, and write the recipient’s name, Bahraini mobile and the carton number out of the total. Cartons over 30 kg are hard to carry and may tear, so spread weight across smaller ones.
Removing air conditioners and kitchens before the move
A split AC is not removed by cutting pipes: the technician first pumps the gas into the outdoor unit, then disconnects and caps the pipes, so the unit arrives in Bahrain ready to reinstall. For a very old unit, compare the cost of moving and reinstalling it with buying new there.
Wooden kitchen cabinets can move if they will fit the new kitchen; we number them by position and pack marble tops separately. Sinks, heaters and gas connections are disconnected by a technician the day before loading, and cylinders are never shipped.
Delivery and assembly in Bahrain
After the causeway the driver calls the recipient to agree the arrival time, then the team unloads and matches every item to its list number. Beds, wardrobes and tables are assembled in place, cartons you want opened are unpacked, and used packing is collected.
For insurance, set the value before loading and photograph valuable items. Note and photograph any mark during delivery. If the home is not ready, your things can go into furniture storage until handover.
Mistakes that delay Bahrain shipments
- Mixing office and home furniture on one list, which confuses procedures.
- Sending new office equipment without invoices.
- Forgetting to book the lift in Manama and Juffair towers.
- Crossing at the weekend peak with a tight delivery deadline.
- Leaving important original files inside archive boxes.
Where do we deliver in Bahrain?
We deliver from Madinah to Manama, Muharraq, Riffa, Isa Town, Hamad Town, Sitra, Budaiya, Juffair, Amwaj Islands and the rest of Bahrain. Some towers in Manama and Juffair require a lift booking and an access permit, so ask building management a day before the truck arrives.

Districts we collect from in Madinah
We collect throughout Madinah, including Al Difa, Al Khalidiyah, Shoran, Al Aziziyah, Al Awali, Quba, Al Harrah Al Sharqiyah, Al Anabis, Sultanah and Al Jurf, offices in the central area and along King Abdullah Road, and the governorates of Yanbu, Khaybar, AlUla, Badr and Al Mahd. We arrange a small vehicle where large trucks cannot enter.
How to get ready for loading day in Madinah
Start a week ahead by sorting: what goes to Bahrain, what is sold or donated, and what stays with family in Madinah. Empty drawers of important papers and gold, and pack a hand bag for your first days in Bahrain. The day before, switch off and air the fridge and freezer, drain the washer, and arrange AC removal if you have not asked us to do it. In an office, ask staff to empty their drawers into boxes labelled with their names and to disconnect devices from power and network.
Examples to estimate your load before asking for a price
A single bedroom usually takes 6 to 9 cubic metres, a master bedroom 10 to 14, and a two-bedroom flat 16 to 24. A small office with five desks, their chairs and two cabinets is close to a master bedroom, and archives add volume quickly because paper boxes are heavy and stacked carefully.
When is groupage better than a dedicated truck to Bahrain?
Groupage suits you if your things fill less than roughly half a truck and you have no fixed delivery date, because you pay only for the space used. A dedicated truck suits a full home or office, or anyone who needs a set causeway crossing time. For example, an employee moving a bedroom and twenty cartons to Manama with no rush is a groupage case; a company moving a ten-person office that must reopen on Sunday needs a dedicated truck loaded on Thursday and crossing at a known time.
