Saudi Express ships furniture, household goods and parcels from Jeddah to Syria in two ways: by road through Jordan to the Jaber–Nassib crossing, where the load is transferred inside the customs yard to a Syrian truck that completes delivery to Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and other cities; and by sea from Jeddah Islamic Port to Latakia or Tartus. The service covers dismantling, packing and loading in Jeddah, clearance and delivery in Syria, and by road it usually takes 8 to 12 days. Moving a bedroom starts from SAR 1,395 and a carton from SAR 93. To book, call or WhatsApp 0560533140.

How do shipments get from Jeddah to Syria?
A shipment from Jeddah reaches Syria either by road through Jordan with a truck change at the Syrian border, or by sea in containers to Syrian ports. The reason is that Syrian border procedures and entry requirements may, in some cases, require the load to be moved to a local truck, while transit to another country crosses under customs police escort, and these procedures can change from time to time.
In practice our truck leaves Jeddah for the Halat Ammar crossing and crosses Jordan to the Jaber border post, opposite Nassib on the Syrian side. There, inside the crossing’s customs yard, your belongings are moved from the incoming truck to a licensed Syrian truck under customs supervision, and the Syrian truck completes the journey to your address. We book that truck in advance with our partner in Syria, so you do not have to find a carrier at the border.
The transfer adds one to three days and makes good packing more important than ever, because your belongings are loaded and unloaded twice before arrival. We pack every piece as if it were going by sea and number cartons clearly so the crew at Nassib can read them without the inventory.
⚠️ Border rules change
Crossing arrangements between Jordan, Syria and Lebanon can change, so we confirm the route and procedure in force on the day you book, before you pay or start packing.
Shipping prices from Jeddah to Syria
Shipping from Jeddah to Syria with Saudi Express starts from SAR 93 per carton, SAR 370 for a parcel up to 50 kg, SAR 1,395 for a complete bedroom and SAR 4,190 for a whole home in a dedicated truck. The final price depends on volume, the Syrian city, road or sea, and how many pieces need wooden crates.
For an average home the price gap between road and sea is not large, but it shows with volume: if your belongings fill a 20 ft or 40 ft container, sea may be cheaper and involves less handling; if they are smaller, road on a shared load is faster and simpler. We price both options and send them to you in writing so you can compare.
Starting prices for the most common items shipped from Jeddah to Syria:
| Service | Details | Starts from (SAR) |
|---|---|---|
| Standard carton | Clothes, kitchenware, books, sealed and numbered | 93 |
| Parcel up to 50 kg | Personal items, gifts, packed goods | 370 |
| Split AC | Both units after gas recovery and pipe sealing | 465 |
| Fridge or washing machine | Fully dried and double-wrapped | 555 |
| 4-door wardrobe | Dismantled, numbered and wrapped | 1,110 |
| Complete bedroom | Bed, wardrobe and dresser with dismantling and assembly | 1,395 |
| Whole home | Dedicated truck to the border, then a Syrian truck | 4,190 |
| Container to Latakia or Tartus | 20 or 40 ft for a large home or goods | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
| Car shipping | Depending on the permitted entry system | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
| Air freight | Urgent parcels and documents | Ask for the price by call or WhatsApp |
On this route costs rise with very heavy items such as marble and steel safes, delivery to mountain villages that need a small vehicle after the truck, and high floors in older districts. They fall with a shared load, sorting before shipping, and delivery to a major city where a relative can collect.
How long does a shipment from Jeddah to Syria take?
A road shipment from Jeddah to Damascus usually takes 8 to 12 days, a sea shipment to Latakia or Tartus 15 to 25 days door to door, and air parcels 2 to 5 days. Road time covers the Saudi–Jordanian crossing, the drive to Nassib, one to three days for transfer and clearance, then distribution inside Syria.
Approximate timings by city and method:
| City | Road via Nassib | Sea |
|---|---|---|
| Damascus and countryside | 8 – 12 days | 18 – 25 days via Latakia or Tartus |
| Daraa and Suwayda | 8 – 11 days | Rarely practical |
| Homs and Hama | 9 – 13 days | 16 – 23 days via Tartus |
| Latakia and Tartus | 10 – 14 days | 15 – 20 days |
| Aleppo and Idlib | 10 – 14 days | 17 – 24 days via Latakia |
Sea timings depend on sailing dates from Jeddah and clearance days at the Syrian port; road timings depend on congestion at crossings, especially before holidays and in the season when expatriates return, so book well ahead.
Sea freight from Jeddah to Latakia and Tartus
Sea freight from Jeddah to Syria moves in containers from Jeddah Islamic Port to Latakia or Tartus and is the most suitable option for large homes, villas, commercial goods and cars. Shipping lines link Jeddah Islamic Port with eastern Mediterranean ports such as Latakia, directly or via a transhipment port depending on the line.
Your belongings are loaded into the container at your door or at our Jeddah warehouse and sealed until inspection at the Syrian port, so nothing is moved between trucks as on the road route, a real advantage for delicate furniture and heavy pieces. The trade-off is a longer timeline and inland transport from the port if your city is far from the coast.
🚢 20 ft container
Fits roughly the furniture of a two- or three-bedroom flat.
🚢 40 ft container
Suits a villa or large home with many appliances, or a car plus furniture.
📦 Shared container
For smaller volumes by sea, charged per cubic metre.
🧾 Bill of lading
Issued to the recipient in Syria, who collects with it after clearance.
Air freight from Jeddah to Syria
Air freight from Jeddah to Syria arrives in 2 to 5 days from King Abdulaziz International Airport to Damascus or Aleppo airport. It suits official papers, personal medicines with prescriptions, clothes, small electronics and gifts you want there before Eid. It does not suit furniture or large appliances, as the cost is high compared with road.
Air freight is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, where volumetric weight = length × width × height in cm ÷ 6,000. A 70 × 50 × 30 cm bag counts as 17.5 kg, so if it actually weighs 12 kg you pay for 17.5. Pack air parcels in small, full cartons and send bulky light items with the road shipment.

Car shipping from Jeddah to Syria
Shipping a car from Jeddah to Syria is possible under conditions, because commercial import of used passenger cars into Syria is tightly restricted, and the usual route for expatriates is temporary entry of their own Saudi-registered car. The car goes by sea to Latakia or Tartus, or the owner drives it through Jordan while we ship the furniture.

According to Syrian customs, temporary entry requires the owner to live outside Syria, to have spent at least six months abroad in the previous year, and the car to carry regular plates from its country of registration. The maximum stay is six months for private cars owned by Arabs or foreigners resident in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, and eight months for cars owned by Saudi nationals. The benefit is personal: the car may not be sold, rented or lent in Syria.
If you drive yourself you need an Absher vehicle travel authorisation, a valid registration, insurance covering Jordan and Syria, and the right entry document such as the Arab transit passbook or a temporary entry card; see our triptyque and car transit documents page. For sea shipment we need the registration, your passport and a bill of lading in your name.
⚠️ Do not buy a car to ship
Do not buy a car in Jeddah intending to sell or register it in Syria before confirming the rules in force: commercial used-car imports are restricted and temporary entry does not allow sale.
Furniture moving from Jeddah to Syria: packing that survives a transfer
Moving furniture from Jeddah to Syria needs stronger packing than Gulf routes, because the load is unloaded at Nassib and reloaded on another truck. Our crew uses sea-grade packing even on the road: blankets, then heavy-duty film, then corner boards or cardboard, with a number and room name on every piece.

Bedrooms are dismantled by a carpenter with screws bagged on the piece itself; mirrors and glass go in double cartons; fridges are dried two days ahead so nothing smells on the road; a technician removes air conditioners after recovering the gas. Valuable heavy pieces, such as old wooden chests or antiques, get a wooden crate that protects them during the transfer.
In Syria the local crew unloads, carries items to rooms by number and reassembles beds and wardrobes. If the home is on a fourth floor without a lift, as in many districts of Damascus and Aleppo, tell us in advance so we send enough hands.
A whole home or a single room?
Call us with your city in Syria and the number of rooms, and we will suggest the right option: a shared road load or a sea container.

If you are thinking of shipping solar panels and inverters because of power cuts in many parts of Syria, they travel under a few simple conditions. Panels and inverters ship well wrapped and listed by type and number, while large loose lithium batteries have special transport rules, so ask us before packing and do not hide them among furniture.
A technician removes ACs after recovering the gas, fridges are dried and loaded upright, and screens go in padded cases. Remember that many items of the same type, such as several panels or several ACs, may be treated as commercial goods rather than household effects, so ship what your home really needs.
Documents needed to ship to Syria
The paperwork for shipping from Jeddah to Syria is simple, but its accuracy decides how fast the load clears the crossings:
- Copy of the sender’s passport and iqama or Saudi ID.
- Recipient’s name, Syrian ID copy, phone number and full address.
- A numbered packing list describing every carton and large item.
- Electronic authorisation for the customs broker through Fasah for export.
- For sea freight: a bill of lading in the recipient’s name.
- For a car: registration, Absher authorisation and the relevant temporary entry document.
- For commercial goods: commercial invoice, certificate of origin and the Syrian importer’s details.
Use clear words on the list such as “used clothes” or “kitchenware” instead of “household items”, and list electrical appliances by type. A clear list reduces how many cartons are opened at Nassib.
Arrival and clearance costs in Syria
Our price covers transport from your home in Jeddah to your door in Syria, including the truck change at Nassib or moving the container from the port; Syrian government charges depend on what you ship. Personal effects and used furniture in household quantities are treated differently from new goods, while new boxed appliances and repeated quantities of the same item may be classed as commercial and charged.
For sea freight there are usually port charges, container storage if collection is late, and the broker’s fee in Latakia or Tartus. Have the recipient ready with documents before the ship arrives, because each day the container stays beyond the free period adds cost. Before shipping we send you an estimate of what to expect on arrival so there are no surprises.
Commercial goods from Jeddah to Syria
Saudi Express ships commercial goods from Jeddah to Syria in full or groupage containers by sea, and by truck overland with transfer to a Syrian truck at the crossing. Common requests include canned food, clothing, personal care products, car spare parts and electrical tools.
Traders need a detailed commercial invoice, a certificate of origin and the Syrian importer’s details, and some goods need an import licence or prior approval in Syria. Sea suits large volumes because the container is not opened until the port; road suits medium consignments the market needs quickly. We review the goods classification with you before shipping so nothing is held at customs for a missing paper.
What cannot be shipped from Jeddah to Syria
Gas cylinders, flammables, chemicals, live animals and perishable food cannot travel with household goods to Syria, and some devices need prior approval. Following the list protects your load from being stopped at the crossing and protects other people’s goods on a shared truck.
🔥 Hazardous materials
Gas, petrol, paint, solvents, fire extinguishers and fireworks.
🐦 Animals and plants
Pets, birds, plants and soil are not shipped with furniture.
🥩 Perishable food
Meat, dairy and unpackaged food; sealed dates and coffee in household amounts are fine.
📡 Restricted devices
Drones, transmitters and satellite communication devices need special approval.
Do not put gold, cash, passports or original certificates in cartons; keep them in your hand luggage throughout the trip.
Cities we deliver to in Syria
Saudi Express delivers from Jeddah to Damascus and its countryside, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Latakia, Tartus, Daraa, Suwayda, Idlib and the towns around them. For remote areas or mountain villages we agree in advance on a delivery point suitable for the truck size.

A day before delivery our representative in Syria calls you or the recipient to set a time. On arrival cartons are counted against the list and large items checked before signing. If you notice anything, write it on the delivery note and photograph it straight away.
Jeddah districts we collect from
We collect loads for Syria from every district of Jeddah, among them Al Safa, Al Marwah, Al Faisaliyah, Al Nuzhah, Al Rehab, Al Samer, Al Hamdaniyah, Al Naseem and Al Aziziyah, as well as Al Hamra, Al Rawdah, Al Zahra, Al Salamah, Al Khalidiyah, Al Bawadi, Al Rabwah, Al Ajwad, Al Harazat, Al Jamiah, Mushrifah, Al Baghdadiyah, Al Sharafiyah, Obhur Al Shamaliyah and Al Kandarah, as well as Rabigh, Al Kamil and Khulais.
If your building is on a narrow street, we load a small vehicle first and shuttle to the large truck. If your belongings are in more than one home, for example your parents’ and your own, we collect both on one day under a single inventory.
Can a relative receive the shipment in Syria?
Yes, a relative or friend can receive the shipment in Syria on your behalf, provided their name appears in the shipping details exactly as on their Syrian ID and their phone is reachable before the truck or ship arrives. This is common when the father travels first and the furniture follows, or when goods are sent to the family home.
By sea the bill of lading is issued in the recipient’s name and used to clear the container, so you need not be there. By road our representative calls the recipient from Nassib to confirm the address and time. Just send them the inventory and photos beforehand, and ask them to count the cartons and note any remark on the delivery receipt before signing.

Mistakes that hold a load at Nassib
Most delays on this route come from small things that can be fixed before loading:
🏷️ Unclear numbers
Unnumbered cartons, or numbers in faint pen, confuse the crew moving them to the Syrian truck.
📄 Recipient without ID
A missing ID copy or phone number for the recipient delays the Syrian truck leaving the crossing.
🧴 Hidden liquids
Cleaning products, large perfumes and car oils in cartons are refused and the load is reopened.
📦 Goods among furniture
Quantities for sale mixed with household items turn the whole load into a commercial review.
Tips for Syrian families returning from Jeddah
If you are shipping a whole home on your final return, the key advice is this: do not ship what is cheaper to buy in Syria than to transport. Heavy old furniture, worn mattresses and old appliances cost more to ship than they are worth; modern energy-efficient appliances, good air conditioners, solid wood furniture and family keepsakes are worth it.
Think about electricity: Syria uses about 220 volts, but power cuts in some areas make low-consumption appliances and home battery systems more useful. Pack a first-days bag with papers, medicines and clothes, as a road shipment may arrive a week or more after you.
💡 Photograph before packing
Photograph valuable devices and large pieces before they are wrapped, and send the photos with the inventory to the recipient in Syria so they know what to expect and can check everything on arrival.
