Shipping Company from Madinah to Oman

Saudi Express ships your cargo and furniture from Madinah to Oman by road in closed trucks, either through the direct Empty Quarter crossing between Saudi Arabia and Oman or via the UAE when that suits the destination better. We collect from your door in Madinah, pack and load, handle the border formalities and deliver to Muscat, Sohar, Salalah or any Omani wilayat. A dedicated truck normally takes 6 to 9 days, a single bedroom starts from SAR 1,850, and cars have their own carriers. Call or WhatsApp 0560533140.

Shipping prices from Madinah to Oman

Shipping from Madinah to Oman starts from SAR 1,850 for a single bedroom and SAR 5,150 for a two-bedroom flat; commercial cargo is priced by volume, weight and truck type. Oman is one of the longest road runs in the Gulf, because the truck crosses Saudi Arabia from west to south-east and then the desert, which is why it costs more than Kuwait or Bahrain.

A full home is priced by cubic metres; in groupage, cargo is charged on volume or weight, whichever is greater. The wilayat matters too: Muscat, Sohar and Ibri are on the main roads, while Salalah is roughly 1,000 km south of Muscat and needs an extra day or two.

What is the road route from Madinah to Oman?

There are two options. The first is the Empty Quarter crossing, the direct desert road linking Saudi Arabia and Oman that enters Oman near the wilayat of Ibri. The second goes through the UAE: out of Saudi Arabia at Al Batha, then into Oman through one of its crossings with the UAE.

We choose based on the destination and the nature of the load. The direct road means one border instead of four sets of formalities (Saudi exit, UAE entry, UAE exit, Omani entry), so fewer papers and often a shorter wait. The UAE route can suit loads bound for Buraimi or North Batinah, or groupage that passes through the UAE anyway.

Either way the truck stays closed and sealed from Madinah to the recipient’s door, with no unloading on the way. Truck types are on our land shipping page.

How long does shipping from Madinah to Oman take?

Usually 6 to 9 days by dedicated truck from loading to delivery in Muscat, with a day or two more for Salalah. Groupage can take longer while the truck fills.

Shipping a home or cargo to Oman?

Tell us the wilayat and type of load, and we will suggest the right route and send the price.

Commercial cargo from Madinah to Oman

Cargo goes as a full truck for traders sending large quantities, or as groupage space for a limited number of cartons, and in both cases needs a commercial invoice, a certificate of origin and an importer in Oman. Dates, perfumes, incense, clothing and religious goods are frequent shipments on this line.

Saudi-made goods benefit from a GCC certificate of origin under the customs union, while goods originally imported from outside the Gulf may be treated differently. Check the type of goods with us before booking, because some categories, such as food and cosmetics, need extra requirements in Oman. Dates in particular need heat-resistant packing and should not be crushed under heavy cargo in the hot months.

Ask your Omani recipient to have their customs registration ready before the truck arrives, so it does not sit at the border waiting. If you ship in batches, number each batch and its invoice separately.

Air freight from Madinah to Oman

Air freight suits small parcels, trade samples, documents and devices, usually arriving in two to five days depending on available flights and procedures at Muscat International Airport. It is a practical answer when the truck will take over a week but you need some things straight away.

You pay the higher of actual and volumetric weight, where volumetric = (length × width × height in cm) ÷ 6000. A sample carton of 45 × 35 × 30 cm is about 7.9 kg volumetric; if it weighs 5 kg, it is charged at 7.9. See air shipping.

Car shipping from Madinah to Oman

A car travels on an enclosed or open road carrier through the border and is delivered to the wilayat you choose. Before booking, know the key rule: Omani customs allow private cars no more than 7 years from manufacture, and trucks and buses up to 10 years, all subject to approval by the Directorate General of Traffic.

Cars that have been in major accidents or natural-disaster damage are not accepted, nor are cars whose steering has been converted from one side to the other. For shipping you need the registration, proof of ownership and a no-objection letter if financed. Driving over for a visit needs no shipping, only insurance valid in Oman and the car papers. See car shipping.

Household furniture packed for a long trip to Oman

The trip to Oman often exceeds 2,000 km, so packing is built for long vibration and high desert heat. Every piece gets two layers, cartons are stacked so nothing light carries anything heavy, and the load is strapped inside the truck.

Large wardrobes are dismantled and their panels wrapped separately; beds come apart with screws in numbered bags. Electronics and screens go upright in padded boxes, and glassware is wrapped piece by piece. Candles, perfumes and anything that melts or suffers in heat are better carried with you or sent by air.

Documents and customs for Oman

For furniture and personal goods: a copy of the sender’s ID, the recipient’s Omani ID card or passport and residence, and a detailed packing list. Commercial cargo needs a commercial invoice, certificate of origin and importer details, and some documents may need Arabic translation.

A family’s used furniture is normally treated as personal effects, while new goods in quantity are treated as cargo. On the UAE route the load also needs UAE transit formalities, one more reason to prefer the direct crossing when it fits.

Prohibited items for Oman

Narcotics, weapons, ammunition and fireworks cannot be shipped to Oman, and gas cylinders, fuel, flammables and chemicals must not travel with your goods. Medicines go in personal quantities with a prescription, and devices such as drones need a prior permit.

Commercial food and cosmetics

Food, perfumes and cosmetics shipped in trade quantities may need registration or approvals in Oman. Ask us before preparing them so they do not stop at the border.

Cities and wilayats we deliver to in Oman

We deliver from Madinah to Muscat, Seeb, Sohar, Rustaq, Nizwa, Ibri, Buraimi, Sur, Salalah and the other wilayats. Ibri is the first large town after the Empty Quarter crossing; trucks then head for Muscat and Batinah, while Salalah in Dhofar has its own run south.

Districts we collect from in Madinah

We collect from all Madinah districts, including Shoran, Al Anabis, Al Aziziyah, Quba, Al Iskan, Al Khalidiyah, Al Difa, Al Awali, Sultanah and Al Harrah Al Gharbiyah, from warehouses and shops in the industrial areas, and from the governorates of AlUla, Yanbu, Badr, Al Hinakiyah, Khaybar and Al Mahd.

What raises or lowers the price to Oman?

The price rises with volume, with distance from the main road, and with extra formalities such as the UAE transit or goods needing special approvals; Salalah costs more than Muscat because of the long run south. It falls when cargo is consolidated into one full load rather than scattered small batches, when groupage is used for limited quantities, and when papers are complete so the truck does not wait at the border. For families, sorting furniture before booking is the easiest way to cut volume and cost.

Preparing the home or warehouse before loading

  • Gather goods in one place near the door with their invoices in order.
  • Empty and dry household appliances the day before.
  • Keep household furniture separate from trade goods so lists do not mix.
  • Keep original documents and gold in your own bag.
  • Give us the Omani recipient’s mobile and a map link to the address.

Examples to estimate your load

A single bedroom usually takes 6 to 9 cubic metres, a two-bedroom flat 16 to 24, and a medium villa can exceed 40. Cargo is estimated by carton count and size: a hundred 50 × 40 × 40 cm cartons take about 8 cubic metres.

Oman’s power supply and appliances moved from Madinah

Oman runs at 50 Hz and about 240 V, while Saudi Arabia is on 60 Hz. Most modern electronics work on both and say so on the label (50/60 Hz). The ones worth checking are motor-driven devices designed for a single frequency, such as some older air conditioners and water pumps. If the label shows 60 Hz only, compare the cost of shipping it with the price of a new one in Muscat or Sohar before adding it to the list.

Steps to ship from Madinah to Oman

  1. Tell us the load type (furniture, cargo or car) and the destination wilayat.
  2. We pick the route: direct crossing or via the UAE.
  3. We send the price and set the loading date.
  4. Prepare papers: ID and recipient details, invoices for cargo.
  5. We pack, load and set off, updating you at the border.
  6. We deliver to the address and assemble furniture for household loads.

Temporary storage and delivery in batches

If your home in Oman is not ready, or your goods will go in batches, we can hold furniture or cargo in furniture storage and ship on the right date. This helps families who travel ahead of their furniture and traders who want stock sent as the shop needs it.

Tips before shipping to Oman

  • Check your car’s year; private cars over 7 years old are not accepted.
  • Do not ship candles or heat-sensitive items in summer.
  • Ask a trading recipient to prepare customs registration before arrival.
  • If you are going to Salalah, plan an extra day or two.
  • See shipping to Oman for services from other regions.
